S.E.X. Review~ The Beginning by Anita Cox

Watch what happens when a recently divorced and sexually repressed thirty-something woman transforms from vapid novice to bombshell maven in The Beginning. Going bravely where she’s never gone before, Candy Kavana is about to take the first steps towards her new life in Book 1 of Anita Cox’s intensely passionate and entertaining series, Dirty White Candy.

Traded in for a younger, newer model by the only man she’s ever made love to, thirty-something Candy Kavana finds herself craving human interaction of the carnal nature. Shy and sexually repressed, Candy turns to her best friend, Stacy, for advice. And what advice it is!

Candy nervously dives into sex therapy and what she discovers is more than mind-blowing sex. She discovers a side of herself she never dreamed existed. Now that she’s whet her whistle, she can’t get enough. Just how far is Candy willing to take her sexual exploration?

Content Notes: Intense, Light BDSM, Ménage, D/S Elements, Polyamory, Contemporary

Sexually uneducated and repressed, Candy begins an age of exploration, where sexual inhibitions are not permitted and safe, casual sex is a must. Divorced and in need of a personal change, Candy’s BFF, Stacy invites her to a sex toy party, where Candy’s world is turned upside down.

The Beginning starts off fast with a bang and never relents.

Anita Cox delivered a world of self-exploration and fantasy that gave new meaning to SEX. Every facet and nuance of the story was carefully constructed to fit the mold of what Candy desired to become. Not once did I think Ms. Cox went too far in Candy’s desire to free herself from sexual repression. Ms. Cox’s capable writing was tasteful and sans any indication Candy was nothing more than a woman on a journey.

The Beginning was a new start for Candy as she explores sex with single men, women and a ménage with a married couple. Ms. Cox’s descriptors erupted and steamed the e-reader, leaving this reviewer gratified and satisfied, as through her writing, we can all throw inhibitions out the window.

Who will candy actually choose to stay with? This reviewer is not sure she has a forerunner, as each encounter brought Candy to a more secure place in her life.

I can say this though, The Beginning is pure S.E.X.

A five handcuff review
