S.E.X. Review~ Trusting Him by L.M. Somerton

Trust is hard earned and all too easy to lose.
Luke Redding’s military background is an asset when it comes to managing The Retreat, but it hasn’t helped him find the submissive he longs for. A secluded life in the New Forest, witnessing a stream of happy couples playing out their fantasies, doesn’t provide much opportunity to develop a relationship either. When a friend’s manipulations lead to him taking on silver-haired Skye as a trainee sub, Luke finds it hard to trust in his own ability to provide the guidance Skye needs.
Skye Ingham wants to explore his submissive nature but the noise and crowds at The Underground are overwhelming. He can’t believe his luck to be taken under Luke’s wing and offered a job at The Retreat. As Luke tests his boundaries, Skye trusts him implicitly, but how can he convince his new Dominant to have faith in himself?
Amid the bustle and excitement of a big house party at The Retreat, Luke and Skye edge their way towards a deeper understanding of each other’s needs and desires. But it will take a final leap of faith to secure their future and open a path to love.

Book 2, Trusting Him, of L.M. Somerton’s series The Retreat was indeed a delightful treat. I enjoyed the characters, both the main and the supporting. Each person in the story had a purpose and place, which enhanced the overall tale. Dominant Luke and general manager of the BDSM retreat house was in need of a submissive~ even if he didn’t know it. Skye, a sub who was to work at the retreat house was definitely in need of a dom, and he knew it. Once he set his sights on the powerful presence of the man named Luke, there was no going back.

I appreciated Ms. Somerton’s infusion of Skye’s vulnerability and innocence~ but definitely not in a skeevy way. He was sexy and the man didn’t even know it.  Luke and Skye complimented each other in every way.

The author permitted Luke and Skye’s relationship to emerge and flourish without the trappings of the BDSM element. They grew together as men as well as dominant and submissive.

The secondary characters added a depth and warmth that resonated throughout, with elements of future stories.

Trusting Him was well-worth the read.

Definite S.E.X.
