Worth the Battle by Laramie Briscoe was a beautiful tale which melded two different souls into a mutually satisfying relationship. Ms. Briscoe wrote of grave issues with the brothers and sisters of the military, PTSD. A psychological complexity at the forefront of today’s news both domestic and abroad.
Layne and Jessica were two kindred spirits meant to be together. Both with baggage, but together all things were possible. I adored Layne. He was witty and charismatic. I laughed and cried- Kudos Ms. Briscoe for making this reviewer emotionally vested in the characters and the story line.
I appreciated the details and nuances written into the story- the emotional roller coaster where goodness is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Worth the Battle was certainly worth the wait.
