Conspiracy Theory by Elle Keaton was the first in the Harmarsson and Dempsey series and a great read. The cat and mouse, murder mystery left me wanting more- but in a very good way. I was intrigued and captivated by the author’s ability to weave a tale and keep me interested.

Niall and Mat had a history which now came full circle when Niall, a disgruntled police detective returned to Piedras Island and found himself in the center of murder and conspiracy. Both men were stoic and hard to read, but only because of their pasts; Nialll’s especially was tumultuous and his return home left him feeling vulnerable and bereft.

Together, Niall and Mat navigated the waters of professional courtesy, professional interference, and potential relationship. The secondary characters, friends and foes, added a dimension which gave credence to the murder mystery.

If you’re looking for an HEA and lots of sex, pause, because Ms. Keaton left us hanging in conspiracy and in relationship but, with more to come. The chemistry between Niall and Mat was palpable and I look forward to seeing the direction the author takes, and the players that unfold as the story is written.
