S.E.X. Review~ Dearest Milton James by N.R. Walker

Malachi Keogh finds himself in a job he neither wanted nor asked for when his father, boss of Sydney’s postal service, sends him to the end of the business line, aka The Dead Letter Office. Malachi expects tedious and boring but instead discovers a warehouse with a quirky bunch of misfit co-workers, including a stoic and nerdy boss, Julian Pollard.

Malachi’s intrigued by Julian at first, and he soon learns there’s more to the man than his boring clothes of beige, tan, and brown; a far cry from Malachi’s hot pink, lilac, and electric blue. Where Julian is calm and ordered, Malachi is chaos personified, but despite their outward differences, there’s an immediate chemistry between them that sends Malachi’s head—and heart—into a spin.

To keep his father happy, Malachi needs to keep this job. He also needs to solve the mystery of the pile of old letters that sits in Julian’s office and maybe get to the bottom of what makes Julian tick. Like everything that goes through the mail centre, only time will tell if Malachi has found his intended destination or if he’ll find himself returned to sender.

A laughing, blubbering fool- the only way to describe this reader as I waded through Dearest Milton James by N.R. Walker. I loved it!

When a book can take me on an emotional roller coaster but not be over the top in negative drama, I’ve found the holy grail of reading and DMJ did just that.

Sent to work in the Dead Letter Office in Sydney, Malachi assumed this job would just be another in a long string of failures. Was he wrong. Malachi fit right in with the misfits that made up the office, including the sexy boss, Julian.

The eccentricities, the tom-foolery, the all in all happiness in the work place let me with a smile on my face and a skip in my step.

I adored all the characters, main and secondary. As far as I was concerned Ms. Walker created a world where all the characters were main ones, and their part in the overall story was integral.

Malachi’s running of the mouth was a running of the bulls- full steam ahead and take no prisoners. He was superbly charming and hilarious. His outlook on life and whatever came his way was a testament to Ms. Walker’s ability to enter the head of her character and allow them to run and lead the way. Julian, aka Mr. Brown, Mr. Beige was sex on two legs as soon Brown/Beige became mocha yumminess and complete sex appeal. Together, along with the others in the Dead Letter Office, DMJ came alive.

This book soared to the top of my faves, and re-reads are definitely in my future.

Definite S.E.X.

A five handcuff review

N.R. Walker Bio

N.R. Walker is an Australian author, who loves her genre of gay romance. She loves writing and spends far too much time doing it, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

She is many things: a mother, a wife, a sister, a writer. She has pretty, pretty boys who live in her head, who don’t let her sleep at night unless she gives them life with words.

She likes it when they do dirty, dirty things… but likes it even more when they fall in love.

She used to think having people in her head talking to her was weird, until one day she happened across other writers who told her it was normal.

She’s been writing ever since…
