Welcome to Sexy Erotic Xciting and this leg of the Hop
Against Homophobia, Bi-and Transphobia!
Let's Kick-Start the Hop today....
International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia
May 17th
As an educator, I believe it is our duty to spread the word concerning
discrimination towards homosexuals and transgender.
In the state of Pennsylvania, did you know….
FACT: The vast
majority of LGBT students in the state of Pennsylvania heard homophobic remarks
about gender expression
FACT: 60% of LGBT
students are harassed in school and never report it to a school official
FACT: Only 7% of
LGBT students attended a school with a comprehensive anti-bullying/harassment
policy with specific protections based on sexual orientation or gender
expression/identity
We must all take a stand! Discrimination is wrong!
Leave a comment and if you are so inclined follow me on FB, Twitter, or tsu (not required to enter the contest) and if you do let me know so you can get your name in the hat multiple times. I'll choose 5 winners at at the end of the hop for a chance to win a book from my published works.
Winners will be randomly chosen May 25th.
Keep hoppin' to visit all the other great authors & sites.
As a retired teacher, there was so much you never heard. I addressed every comment I heard no matter how small.

Interesting post it's so sad when you see the facts in black and white I'm still hoping that one day soon people will stop bullying and realise that everyone is equal and should be treated as such.

Thank you for the post. I can say that I'm not surprised by the list of facts that you posted, but it makes me incredibly sad to realize that it's still that bad. I can only hope that things will improve. Bullying and harassment is so hard to overcome for the victims and it lingers.
ReplyDeleteI already follow you on FB (Jen Walter) and Twitter (@pumpkin3410). :-)

I teach ages birth to three years and agree that it is part of our responsibilities as educators to instill that discrimination and hate are not welcomed in our society.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being part of this blog hop and for sharing this concerning facts. A few years ago one of my nephews was being bullied, physically and mentally, and when his parents expressed their concerns with the school, the response was that boys will be boys and that their son needed to toughen up and get used to it, as it will only get worse in the future for him. Not a positive message or encouraging, so subsequently he went to a new school and excelled with his differences accepted.
ReplyDeleteI follow you on the social sites you mentioned and thank you for a chance to win one of your books <3
