Darius (or Artaxerxes, as he is called) is a demon whose latest mission was to make sure this madman of a vampire stayed alive, although he failed. Guarded and untrusting, Darius has never been in a relationship, so when fate decides to bring them together, Darius is shocked to find out that Kai is his mate.
Not all is well, however, when Kai and his friends are attacked by a supernatural force during a party. While the answers they seek are uncertain, Kai’s dreams hold the key to solving the mystery, as well as changing his life forever.
Passionate
Premonition by Frey Ortega, third installment of Into the New World was sexy and fun. A book infused with drama and
humor and one that held this reviewer’s attention.
Darius, a demon and
Kai a human seer are mates—a world totally foreign to Kai as he knows nothing
of the existence of supernaturalism. The two men must learn to adapt to each
other; trust and forge a bond which will make them stronger in the end.
What I loved about Passionate Premonitions—the realistic relationship
ups and downs that comes along when you are attracted to someone from afar yet
you’re afraid to approach him for fear of being rejected. Although Darius and
Kai were mates, Mr. Ortega allowed
their relationship to grow and nurture as opposed to the typical he-man-jump in the sack-you’re mine.
Kai was sweet and
motherly, characteristics opposite of Darius but which endeared me to him and
to Darius’s nature. Kai’s demeanor and selflessness were the perfect antithesis
to Darius and his strong alpha personality and lack of emotion. They were the
perfect opposites do attract and made better for it.
The secondary
characters were fantastic and enhanced every nuance of the story. Old
characters and new brought dimension and depth where needed. I look forward to
sinking my teeth into the next book and reading Micah’s story.
