Prologue 1983
Oppressive heat caused the sweat to trickle down the hunter’s back and pooled at the waist band of his camouflage BDU’s. Three fucking days entrenched in the mosquito-ridded n jungle of Colombia waiting for his mark, Carlos Quintanilla—drug runner, cocoa bean grower and major player in the Colombian cartel. He and his team were being paid handsomely to sit, wait, and dispose of the target. An unplanned trip by Quintanilla had caused the hunter to sit for three days in wait as opposed to the original twenty-four hours- in, shoot, and out. But, mercenaries were paid to wait- under any conditions.
Once the deed was done, he would trek four clicks through the jungle and rendezvous with the team, cross into Venezuela and transform into businessmen for the trip back to the states. With this payoff, he planned to retire- hang up his hat as a killer for higher and live on an island in peace and quiet. Maybe.

The hunter watched. Quintanilla lumbered along the pool’s edge of his multi-million dollar fortress. Security was at the utmost priority for the Colombian which was of little consequence to Hunter, perched approximately three-quarters of a mile away from the complex in a make shift tree stand with his M24 SWS, nicknamed Lolita.
