S.E.X. Review~ Blue Christmas by J.R. Loveless

Christmas used to be a time of joy for me, but since my mother's death three years ago the holiday has lost all meaning, becoming nothing but a harsh reminder of what I've lost. I've become bitter and skeptical of everyone around me, and the cold aloofness has kept me from being hurt that deeply again. But this year the thought of yet another blue Christmas alone sends me on a path that will change my life forever.

Trigger Warning: Attempted Suicide

Blue Christmas by JR Loveless told the tale of two very different men who were brought together under unforeseen circumstances and made a go of it. Patrick Jed a solidarity life since the passing of his mother; depressed and reclusive, the man attempted suicide in an effort to ease his pain. Carter, hero, firefighter, and all around good guy, saved Patrick and insinuated himself into Patrick’s life.

Both men were sweet and tender together- Carter addressing Patrick’s insecurities and lack of relationships- falling for the man. Carter, a tad bit stalkerish and a mild jealous streak, Ms. Loveless did a nice job of not crossing the line. The author also tackled the sensitive topic of suicide, but did it in a way that did not glorify, but demonstrated the pain and severity of it.

Miracles do happen at Christmas time, and Loveless wrote a sweet one.
