The Baker Gets His Man

Blurb
Jacob Stine, one of the owners of the town’s bakery, has wanted Race Carroway since the moment they first met. Despite the obvious tension between them, he’d always assumed that the hunky mechanic would never be interested in him. Jacob had resigned himself to admiring Race from a distance until the day he’s forced to call him for help.

When the encounter turns steamy and then abruptly ends, Jacob is torn between hurt and confusion. He has to make the decision between finally moving on and trusting Race with one more chance. Will the baker have what it takes to get his man?

Review

I am always excited when another Romance on the Go book comes out and The Baker Gets His Man by Rebecca Brochu does not disappoint. Jacob owns a bakery shop with his longtime friend Kyle, which is directly across the street from a garage owned by Race Carroway, the object of Jacob’s desires. Every day Jacob ogles Race through the bakery window and wishes for a relationship with the studly mechanic. Circumstances soon bring the two men together but Race runs in fear, avoiding Jacob.

Race can’t avoid Jacob forever and he realizes this, making his way to the bakery with his tail between his legs and asking for forgiveness.

I appreciated the representation that Ms. Brochu gave both men without stereotyping their professions. Jacob may have been a baker, but he was no wallflower- twink and although Race was a mechanic, he could go from alpha to gentle in a few seconds flat.

Ms. Brochu allowed both men to explore their inner emotions and the depth of the feelings they had for each other. I know that these are short books, but a lot of love and lust was packed into this story. The sex scenes sizzle with lots of heat and an added dose of tenderness. Just the right amount of each for a Romance on the Go.

A four handcuff review.
