S.E.X. Spotlight~ Cowboy Dreamin' Box Set

Bull Rider Meets ER Nurse by Paty Jager

I had the idea for a female bull rider in my file of story ideas ever since a friend told me her high school aged daughter was riding bulls at high school rodeos. If you’ve read any of my historical western romance books you know I like to put women in occupations that in historical times was typically a male occupation and having a female bull rider seemed like the best way to toss a loop in the usual male role.

While doing the process I call stewing and brewing, I decided to put the hero in a mostly female profession, though there are more and more male nurse these days. And the best way to have them meet is with her injured from a rodeo and him working in the ER.
Then to put another twist on the story, I had her five years younger than him, he is her cousins best friend, and she had a crush on him as a teenager.

As the story took shape and I added in the cousin and other family members I could see them all having a happily ever after and Eight Seconds to Love became the first book of the Tumbling Creek Ranch series. So look for more books centered around the lives of the Wallis and MacIntyre families and Tumbling Creek Dude Ranch.

Eight Seconds to Love
By Paty Jager

Lacey Wallis has put blood, sweat, and tears into her dream of making it to the National Finals Rodeo and isn’t about to let an injury stop her. However, she didn’t expect the ER nurse to be the man she had a crush on years ago, or to discover that crush hadn’t been one-sided.

Jared McIntyre lived through loving and the death of one thrill-seeking woman, and wasn’t about to let that happen again. Especially not to Lacey. But that would mean he’d have to allow himself to love again.

Which will it be, a life-long dream, or the love of a lifetime?
