R.J. Scott once again created the start of a wonderfully enjoyable series, Single Dads, with the first book, Single. In a relationship he thought would last, Asher decided to go ahead with the surrogacy, even after Darius left. A new daughter in tow, Asher needed to learn to navigate the wonders of parenthood, albeit with a little help from his well-meaning twin.

A fluky, crazy night brought Eric, the next door neighbored firefighter to Asher’s doorstep, drunk and a bit lost. Good thing his roommate, Sean came along to straighten things out and apologize for the plunder.

Sean was immediately smitten with Asher and baby Mia; Asher a bit timid to start a new relationship.

Ms. Scott wove together a sweet tale of a single dad, a crazy twin, and three best friends, one of whom fell in love with Asher. I adored both main characters as well as the secondary ones, which added a more realistic storyline to the book. The friendship to love was at an even pace and left me smiling as I read.

Insert an adorable baby, and I’m sold.

Additionally, Asher joined a single dads support group, of which at least one of the men will have a starring role in book two along with one of Sean’s hunky roomies.

What I most enjoy about Ms. Scott’s writing is that no matter how many books/series she writes, she can always create something new and make me want to come back for more.

Definite S.E.X.
