S.E.X. Review~ Secret Santa by Jay Northcote- Narrated by Hamish Long

Keeping secrets is never a good way to start a relationship...

Theo hardly has time to date. Between work and caring for his four-year-old son there aren’t many hours left over. He’s lonely though, so he joins a hook-up app and starts chatting to a guy called Luke. Luke seems friendly and they arrange to meet. Theo doesn’t mention that he has a child. It’s early days and he’s worried about putting Luke off before they get to know each other.

Luke is currently working as Santa at the local shopping mall. He figures Theo never has to know. Christmas will be over soon and Luke will move on to a new, less embarrassing job. He’s surprised when Theo and a little boy visit Santa one afternoon. Theo doesn’t recognise Luke, and Luke realises he’s not the only one with a secret.

Despite misgivings on both sides, they start dating, and the chemistry is amazing. But as Christmas approaches their secrets pile up like colourful packages under the tree. If they’re not careful, they’ll lose the best gift of all—each other.

Secret Santa by Jay Northcote and narrated by Hamish Long was sweet and sappy, and just the right amount of Christmas cheer.

Luke and Theo met on Grindr app, with plans for a promising hook up, but unbeknownst to Theo, they subsequently met when Theo brought his son Archie to meet Santa. Not wanting to scare a perspective boyfriend, Theo never told Luke about Archie and then the secrets began.

I enjoyed the story but had a bit of difficulty with the lying to each other. I understood the reasoning and the light-heartedness, but…..All in all, the book hit the mark for a quick read or listen to.

Hamish Long did a wonderful job of narrating this sweet read, utilizing inflection and voice changes to deliver the tale. Nicely done!

Frisky but Nothing too Kinky

A three and a half handcuff review

Four star review for the narration

S.E.X. Review~ Operation Fake Relationship by Jay Northcote

Can a fake relationship between best friends turn into the real thing?

After years of estrangement from his parents, Nick is finally going home for Christmas, but not without backup. He wants moral support, so his best friend and flatmate, Jackson, agrees to pretend to be his partner so he can go with him.

It’s easy for Jackson to be convincing when his feelings for Nick are as genuine as ever. He put his crush on the back burner long ago, but acting out a role he’d love to play for real is harder than he imagined. Holding hands, kissing under the mistletoe, even sharing a bed for the sake of the charade... He can’t help wondering what he’s let himself in for, and whether his heart can take it.

Emotions run high as Nick grapples with family issues, and the sexual tension between him and his best friend becomes difficult to ignore. But if he and Jackson give into the temptation to be fake boyfriends with benefits over the holiday, what will it mean for their future as friends once Christmas is over?

Contains: best friends to lovers, pretend boyfriends, daddy issues, mistletoe, and a happy ending—of course.

Operation Fake Relationship by Jay Northcote was super sappy and sweet, and this reader loved it. Nick and Jackson went on Christmas Holiday to Nick’s family and faked a relationship in order for Nick to stick it to his parents. But as things turned out he and Jackson fell in love which made the trip all the better.

The author did a nice job of wading through crazy family gatherings especially during the stressful holidays. I enjoyed the characters and the easy banter that ensued.

Operation Fake Relationship was a nice Christmas trope that left a smile on my face.

Sexy & Sizzling
