You. Forever. Always. by authors K.A. Merikan was a rocking sweet tale featuring Mage and Dawn. Book
3 in The Underdogs series, and a
standalone, Dawn loved his brother’s best friend since he was a teen. Mage
always took care of the shy, introverted and gangly teen and watched him become
a shy and quiet man with a sweet and giving nature. Mage fell for Dawn, but
chose not to pursue a relationship sans adding a new piece to the band’s
dynamics.
I enjoyed the story,
and I believed the authors did a nice job portraying Dawn’s anxiety. His
debilitating nature left him shell shocked and panic stricken, only to be
assuaged by Mage’s calming nature or until he passed out with stress. The
budding relationship and the next step between Mage and Dawn was sweet and
sensitive.
At times I found the
other band members attitudes or interactions callous in the face of such a
sensitively written character, but I would imagine the authors attempted to
demonstrate a normalcy in the world of music, melding it with the world of
mental distress.
You. Forever. Always. was a nice read and worth the time.
