S.E.X. Review~ The Depth of Love by Serena Akeroyd

The culmination to Serena Akeroyd’s serial, The Luck of Love was spectacular. The Depth of Love was everything I’d have hoped for and wanted in this wonderfully written saga.

Gia, Josh, and Luke came together has a united front and battled demons past and present to enhance their relationship and forge forward as a family. Lexi was ever-present and completely adorable; the slip of a genius and precocious child, only enhanced the dynamics of the family.

The nuances of the three individuals radiated through Ms. Akeroyd’s writing and gave credence to her ability to formulate a story of three very different people who came together and better in the end.

I appreciated knowing how the three got together, with the author giving us glimpses into the past. Gia was drawn to the committed couple, as they were to them, and it worked!

Over my past few reviews of the previous books, I have tried to understand Josh, as a man and his character, and I can say, that I finally get it. Josh was not a wine and roses man. A product of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell era, drilled into his being all his life, Josh was a pragmatist. And as such, he lived his life; professional and personal that way. But, he did show he cared and loved his family in ways which worked for him. Making sure his husband came out of the military on his own terms, always wanting the best for his daughter and their future children, knowing that his eccentricities drove his spouses crazy, and trying to curb them. – that’s what a man who’s a realist yet filled with love does. Luke and Gia accepted Josh for who he was, as he accepted them.

This happily ever ménage was a sure fire hit and should be read in order. I am only sad to see it end, but hope springs eternal that Ms. Akeroyd will grace us with this throuple again in the future.

S.E.X. Review~ The Strength of Love by Serena Akeroyd

Forced apart by society's inability to handle the admittedly unusual relationship Gia Jefferson has with Luke Gray and Josh Henderson, she's the one left to deal with the consequences of being unorthodox. Rather than pout, she bravely decides to deal with the aftermath of her past. An aftermath that has to remain secret, even from the men she adores and trusts with her very life. Such secrets can destroy the foundations of any partnership, but one as finely tuned as their throuple is even more delicate and more susceptible to strain.

Secrets are a way of life for Gia, but they're a hard limit for a man like Josh, whose career has made him paranoid. With her mother's life on the line, Gia is left with few options, putting their relationship straight on the tipping point.

When revelations from Josh's past slither in from out of nowhere, and with Luke's appeal still up in the air, Gia's men flounder in the face of her sudden need for secrecy. Can the trio make it work or will life's curveball decimate the strength of their love?

The Strength of Love left me yearning for more. Josh, Luke, Gia, and the precocious Lexi were back for the third installment in Happily Ever Ménage: The Luck of Love by Serena Akeroyd; and boy did it not disappoint. Sent on an unintended trip to ease the melee of Luke’s military discharge appeal, Gia migrated  towards her past and a life she left behind. Pregnant and in turmoil about not being able to be with the men she loves and their daughter, Gia turned to the woman who gave birth to her, in order to find some semblance of normalcy.

Josh and Luke waded through military tribunal and came out better on the other end. Ms. Akeroyd wrote realistic characters with clarity and depth. My only drawback is the slight lack of emotional connection between Josh and Luke. Yes, they’re married to each other and in a committed relationship with Gia, but as I read, I felt Josh was emotionally distant. Josh’s characterization was not one of wine and roses, but almost bordered on rigidity.

Gia’s strongmindedness and desire to create a harmonious family was uplifting, as was Luke’s need to protect his country, loved ones, and himself. Ms. Akeroyd’s ability to make the three characters all very different yet blend together was a testament to her ability to deliver a well-written ménage.

The final installment is within my reach and I can not wait to see how Ms. Akeroyd ties it all together.

When Luke Gray arrives home after a disastrous deployment, he's mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted. Severely injured, his recuperation should be at the forefront of his mind; however, he has to focus on the cover up that has left his illustrious career in tatters. Though his lovers' faith in him is unshakeable, the sights and sounds Luke saw in the sandbox have returned with him, and with Josh, Luke's husband, intent on uncovering the truth and saving Luke's reputation, the weight of the family's woes falls on Gia's shoulders.

Their lover of five years and mother of their daughter, Gia can do no less than support both of her partners as they forge a path of their own; paths that could annihilate the family. As the keystone, Gia has no choice but to keep them all together, but with the Armed Forces knocking at their door, Luke's PTSD rearing its ugly head, and a pregnancy test just waiting to be used, the throuple are at breaking point.

Only the Power of Love can keep them together, but is it powerful enough to overcome the hurdles life has thrown this family's way?

The Power of Love, second installment of Serena Akeroyd’s serial The Luck of Love was heart wrenching and fast paced.

Returned from deployment, Luke struggled with the horrors he saw and the horrors befallen him. Unable to accept his ill-gotten fate, Luke’s a mess as was his family dynamics. Unable to cope with what has occurred to him, physically, emotionally, and psychologically, Luke withdrew into a dark place and detached himself from his husband and wife.

I have to note, Josh irritated me in this installment. Deep down I knew he loved his husband, and I understood the dire straits he went through to clear Luke’s name, but his almost hands-off attitude rubbed me the wrong way. Kudos Ms. Akeroyd for creating such life-like characters and ensnaring me into their lives! Love this serial.

The relationship between the ménage was palpable; the trio still finding their way. The addition of the secondary characters, their extended families, added to the story and gave readers a glimpsed into the reason Luke, Josh, and Gia are the formidable characters they are.

Their highly intelligent and precocious child Lexi, brought forth a smile, as the little girl traverses her world, giving her parents a run for their money.

A wonderful storyline which gets better with each book.

Hiding the fact she's a bestselling gay romance author from her lovers makes life a little unusual for Gia, but she's living a dream--she's the stuffing in a bisexual relationship between two of the strongest men she's ever known.

When news of Luke's deployment breaks, when the aftermath of her daughter's bullying hits home, all Gia can do is regroup and protect the unorthodox family she's helped to create. In this case, a glass slipper won't work any magic, but a gold ring holds promises Luke desperately needs. Will a wedding save their small unit or will it be the tipping point?

The Luck of Love, the first book in by Serena Akeroyd’s serial The Luck of Love was a wonderfully written short read.

Gia, Luke, and Josh were realistic characters with very real worries, trials, and tribulations in their life. Military men meets surrogate- now- partner, the ménage created a life all unto their own with their daughter.

I enjoyed the realism intertwined throughout the story and I appreciated each character and what they brought to the table.

Josh’s militant attitude, Luke’s peacemaker style, and Gia’s need to nurture blended well. A quick read, an HEA, but not a complete story; I look forward to the next installment.
