Of Hope and Anguish, Silvia Violet’s second book in her Revolutionaries series was a well-documented tale of the harsh life during the inception of the United States of America.

The Revolutionary War was in full swing- the colonies no longer wanting to be controlled by a king across the ocean- whose sole purpose was to oppress those who went against him.

Eli, Jack, Constance, and Bradford forged forward in helping the colonies- or rebel’s as the British liked to call them- win the war by any means possible. Along with new characters the ante was upped with more danger in the wings.

I adored Eli and Jack and Ms. Violet’s portrayal of two men, who not only wanted what’s best for their home and hearth, but a life for themselves too.

Intrigue and illusion were the name of the game with a dose of hidden love. Of Hope and Anguish was well written with historically accurate nuances.

Every time Jack stopped at the Sumner stand, Luke became a tongue-tied mess. Luke doubted today would be any different. He couldn’t take his eyes off Jack as he examined the berries Cal had for sale. His long-fingered hands gently cradled each basket as he searched for the best one. The gray pants he had on clung to his ass and his muscular thighs, and his deep-blue shirt would bring out the color of his beautiful eyes.

Jack looked his way, and Luke quickly dropped his gaze, praying Jack hadn’t seen him.

For all Luke knew, Jack was straight as an arrow and would be disgusted if he realized Luke fantasized about him. But he’d seen Jack assessing other men in a way most straight men didn’t. The fact that Luke had noticed meant he’d spent far too much time watching a man who probably thought of him as a kid. Why did he always crush on older men who were out of his league?

When Jack crossed the grassy area between the rows of booths, Luke’s mouth went dry and his pulse pounded in his head.

“How’s the afternoon going?” Jack asked.

“Um…fine. It’s…uh…hot.”

“It is. It shouldn’t be this hot so far into September.”

“Right. It…um…shouldn’t.” Great. He was making a fool of himself.

“How’s your corn?”

The change of subject threw Luke at first. “Oh…um…it’s still producing. We’ve got some beautiful ears right here.” He pointed to his left where he’d placed the corn in bushel baskets. Produce was a safe subject. He could talk produce in his sleep.

“Great. I’ll take some. I’ve got a recipe for a Mexican casserole I want to try.”

“For your guests?”

Jack nodded.

“You…um…you seem to like choosing recipes for them.”

“Cooking for people has become my favorite part of running the inn, which has really surprised me.”

“Yeah?”

“Before I decided I wanted to run my own inn, I was, at best, a mediocre cook. I knew I wouldn’t be able to hire anyone to cook for me, though, so I started watching videos and practicing, and now I’m quite good, or at least the guests think so.”

“I bet you are.” Heat filled Luke’s face as he realized how breathless his words sounded.

“You should stop by the inn for breakfast sometime.”

“Oh, um…” Luke’s heart pounded.

“Since your family supplies so much of the food, it only makes sense for you to see how it gets used. And I like to show off my skills because I—”

“Worked hard for them.” They said the words at the same time.

“I know that feeling,” Luke said.

Jack smiled. “I guess you do.”

Unlike most people, especially anyone older than Luke, Jack didn’t patronize him. He simply acknowledged that Luke had worked hard for opportunities a lot of people took for granted.

“Call me if you want to stop by one morning.”

Luke would love a chance to spend more time with Jack, but he also knew he wouldn’t have the nerve to call. If he let Jack feed him a delicious breakfast, he’d be even more of a wreck around him than usual, or, even worse, he might lose his mind altogether, follow Jack into the kitchen, and try to seduce him right there.

I thoroughly enjoyed Tied to Home by Silvia Violet. The third in her Ames Bridge series, Luke and Jack were characters with large presence and overflowing personalities. The BDSM D/s book was adventurous and captivating. 

Much younger than Jack, Luke yearned to give himself to Jack- mind, body, and soul. He craved to be controlled and loved and was tenacious in his quest. Together the men oozed sexuality and sexual chemistry. I adored them.

Ms. Violet created wonderfully written characters in a well-developed world. The secondary characters too, added depth and substance to Ames Bridge. 

A wonderful story by a talented author.

Brad and Paxton have known each other almost forever, especially since Brad’s brother was Pax’s best friend. Tragedy brought them back together after years of separation, only fueling the feelings Pax harbored for Brad. 

What I most enjoyed amongst so many things in this book was the chemistry Pax and Brad displayed in their passion for each other and their desire to create a life- always thinking about the other first.

They were sweet and caring and their true personalities shown through as the author carefully penned their lives, allowing the reader to become a part of their destiny.

A standalone in the series, The Past Comes Home will make your heart swell and place a smile on your face.

Ever since I read Professional Distance by Silvia Violet, I knew Marc deserved his own story. I was not disappointed in Well-Tailored, Marc and Darius' tale and a sexy one at that.

The sexy Brit and the one-time escort were sex on sticks as the two traversed the murky waters of relationship heaven. I have to admit, Darius rubbed me the wrong way- smug and callus- I longed for his redeeming qualities. In Ms. Violet's careful hand, Darius found redemption and wormed his way into my heart. 

Parallel to book three in the Thorne and Dash series, Well-Tailored was told from Marc and Darius' point of view. From the pre-wedding misunderstanding to the opening of Riley's bakery, Well-Tailored left no stone unturned in drama. Marc and Darius ignited with passion over and under the sheets. The sexual chemistry oozed from the pages and boiled my blood. 

Silvia Violet hit it out of the park. Grab a glass of chilled wine because you'll need to cool off after reading Well-Tailored.

Their cat and mouse games under the noses of the British on colonial soil was aptly descriptive and thoroughly researched.

As a lover and educator of history, Revolutionary Temptation checked all my boxes. I look forward to more works in this amazingly written series.

I love geeks and men in kilts~ lucky for me Silvia Violet's Astronomical fit the bill. 

Blake and Greg were neighbors~ Blake a research librarian and Greg the kilt wearing astronomer~ together the men found romance in the summer heat beneath the stars.

Ms. Violet delivered a heartwarming and sexy tale that focused on the relationship and the slow build the men took from friendship to lovers.

The secondary characters were wonderful, especially Blake's precocious niece whose mission was to set her uncle up with the doc.

A quick read that held my attention and made me see the stars.
