A Siren Erotic Romance

The equestrian world came alive in Skye Michaels new book Quinn’s Secret Gifts. Both involved in horsemanship ~ one a ride, the other a veterinarian~ Jess and Quinn took their professionally relationship and elevated it to personal.

In the lifestyle and already doubting his ability as a dom, Jess turned his sights on the lovely Irish vet with a submissive streak.

The main characters were caught up in drama and intrigue as horse nappers ran amok. What I most enjoy when reading a Skye Michaels book was the attention to detail and the ability to teach this reader something new. Additionally, the author, if possible, sets her books during actual world events thus authenticating the setting.

Jess and Quinn were likeable characters and although the focus was not on BDSM, the story flowed, containing other facets that kept me interested.

The Wilton Park Grand Hotel series was worth the time and Quinn’s Secret Gifts did not disappoint.

Steel Cameron was a Major in the U.S. Army when both of his lower legs were blown off by an IED in Iraq. The trauma was heightened when his wife couldn’t handle the shock of how her handsome husband looked with two metal sticks to replace his strong, muscular legs. Steel, a Master Dom, hid his damaged legs under tall, black riding boots at the club.  

MacAlister “Mac” Smith, a biomedical engineer working on the design of the latest mind-controlled robotic limbs had admired Master Steel at The Black Iris Club for months and thinks he would make a good candidate for Mac’s clinical trial. At the top of his field and totally in control in the lab, Mac didn’t understand what drove him to want to turn himself over to another person completely and call that person Master. Can these two very different individuals overcome their emotional and physical problems and blend into a strong D/s partnership?

Double amputee, Steel Cameron has had grief and been a self-imposed recluse since his accident and failed marriage. Mac Smith worked for an engineering company researching bionic prosthetics and was in need of trial patients. Having his eye on the imposing Dom, Mac figured a working relationship could only foster a personal D/s one~ so Mac approached and took the plunge.

Skye Michaels’ Mac’s Damaged Dom, The Wilton Park Grand Hotel #6 was thoughtfully and carefully written. Ms. Michaels slowly simmered the relationship between Steel and Mac, paying careful attention to Steel’s need for privacy as he healed and dealt with personal insecurities.

I did not feel as if the book was rushed, neither on the relationship front, nor the exploration of post-war injuries. Ms. Michaels research brought forth the importance of seeking help in the face of demons and the solace which can be achieved when you open yourself to others who have your best interests at heart.

Mac was a caring man, who not only desired a D/s relationship with Dominant Steel, but also a man who would put his emotional feelings aside to help Steel achieve a sense of self-worth.

As always, Skye Michaels attention to detail with her characters allowed the book to read with fluidity. Friends from previous series cross over, adding to the depth of tale.

Mac’s Damaged Dom was heart-warming and genuine.

S.E.X. Review~ Shane's Seduction by Skye Michaels

Young attorney Shane Beckett, has known he was gay since high school, but has never had the courage to come out of the closet. A series of straight relationships had not worked and have left him conflicted as he struggles to come to terms with his sexual preference.

During an assignment to review the due diligence package for a new restaurant for bisexual, handsome, and powerful Dom Cordell McAdam, Cord opens the world of BDSM for Shane. Their relationship becomes more important to each, although neither has said the words. Cord encourages Shane to come out of the closet and live his life on his own terms. The situation hits critical mass when Shane’s inability to confront his parents with the facts and his relationship with Cord drives a wedge between them. Can young Shane man up and confront his parents with the truth? Can Cord forgive the betrayal he felt when Shane denied their relationship?

Shane’s Seduction by Skye Michaels was a sensual read of exploration as Shane discovered his true nature with the assistance of Dom Cord McAdam. Ms. Michaels did a beautiful job of allowing Shane’s character to ascertain his submissive side— although he always assumed he was a top.

Shane was sweet, hard-working and a loveable character with flaws that were readily charming and fixable. Cord, although a dominant tugged at my heart with his loving attitude towards Shane and Shane’s reluctance to expose his true demeanor.

Together Shane and Cord were a strikingly powerful couple and well-suited for each other. Both men exuded charisma and sex appeal—two traits which this reader finds imperative.

Always attentive to detail, Ms. Michaels did a wonderful job of integrating not only characters from The Wilton Grand Park Hotel series, but her other intertwining series. Shane’s Seduction can be read as a standalone but I’d recommend reading the series from its entirety—you will not be disappointed.

Danny’s Escape by Skye Micheals is the current story of The Wilton Park Grand Hotel series. Danny has been rescued by Dom Jack Brown after being left beaten by his master. Jack takes Danny under his wing, giving him a chance at a new life~ a job as assistant manager at WPG, a secluded place to live and an introduction to his friend Rush Tanner.

What I liked about this particular story was that Danny and Rush didn’t immediately fall into a relationship or even love. Rush was attracted to the skittish sub, but Danny stood fast in his resolve to take things slow on a more vanilla level as opposed to a BDSM style relationship.

Ms. Michaels allowed the bond to develop slowly and with deliberation, as Danny came to terms with his former master and his need, albeit still submissive, to be in control of his own life. Kudos to Ms. Michaels for giving us a Dom who could do vanilla as well as BDSM and still be satisfied in the relationship.

S.E.X. Review~ Ricky's Dilemma by Skye Michaels

Ricky Estavez immigrated to the U.S. when life in Mexico became unbearable. His traditional Mexican family could not accept his homosexuality. His comfortable life was disrupted when his fraternal twin brother, Fernando, a star in the Mexican prosecutor’s office in Mexico City finds himself in the cross-hairs of a cartel death sentence. 

Dom Sam McCade, special consultant to Homeland Security on the immigration issue, was staying at the exclusive Wilton Park Grand Hotel on vacation. When Eric walked into the salon where Ricky worked for a haircut, both men were instantly smitten. 

A relationship developed, but Ricky did not feel he could confide his brother’s problem to the government consultant. When Sam asked Ricky to accompany him on a luxury New Years’s cruise to Cozumel aboard the Golden Dolphin, Ricky can’t pass up the opportunity to rescue his brother from the drug cartel. 

Can Ricky save his brother from the Juarez cartel, and can he salvage the relationship with Sam that was damaged by his lack of trust?

Ricky’s Dilemma by Skye Michaels was a wonderful addition to The Wilton Park Grand Hotel series. Ricky, an out and proud hair stylist had the pleasure of Sam McCade walking into the salon where he worked for a snip and style. Sam, a consultant for Homeland Security happened to be on vacation at the Wilton Park Grand Hotel. The Dom was immediately smitten with the fiery Latin.

Ricky and Sam hit it off right away even with Ricky’s reservations of a D/s relationship. What I enjoyed about the book~ the focus was not necessarily on the physical aspect of the D/s relationship but the trust involved and the cultural issues with being a Latin man~ machismo. Even though Ricky was gay and not the norm of what his very culturally-sound family would have wanted, his upbringing still played a part in his life and the potential bond with Sam.

Ms. Michaels did a lovely job of depicting the ramifications of a stoic Mexican extended family and their attitudes. She delivered Ricky’s reservations with clarity; whether talking about his parents or his lack of trust to divulge to Sam the real reason he agreed to return to Mexico with him.

I appreciated Ms. Michaels' continuously bringing in past characters from her other series and intertwining their lives to enhance the plot and depth of the story.

S.E.X. Review~ Alex's Sacrifice ~ Skye Michaels

Alex Richmond had been in love with his rough, tough, impatient boss, Jarred Ransom since he went to work at Ransom Construction six months ago. He had no idea that Jarred was bisexual, but on a business trip to Fort Lauderdale, he discovers that Jarred wants to introduce him to BDSM. 

While they are dining at The Black Dahlia Hotel, Alex overhears one side of a phone conversation that throws him for a loop. A past sub of Jarred’s reveals that she has a son that looks like Jarred. Alex has no choice but to tell Jarred that he may have a child that he was unaware of. When little Benji is in danger, the parental instincts of both men surface, and Alex is prepared to sacrifice his love for Jarred for Benji’s happiness. Can they save Benji and can Jarred convince Alex they can have it all? 

The Wilton Park Grand Hotel series has an awesome start in Skye Michaels’ latest creation, Alex’s Sacrifice. Alex Richmond, personal assistant to ex-Navy Seal and real estate mogul Jarred Ransom has it bad. Bad, as in love and lust with the gruff, no nonsense man. Luckily for Alex, his feelings are reciprocated and soon the two men begin a D/s relationship. No spoilers here, let’s just say things don’t go as planned for Alex or Jarred. But never fear, an HEA was in the cards for these two larger than life characters.

Ms. Michaels has interwoven a world from New York to Georgia to Fort Lauderdale, Florida that spans friendship and acquaintances adding depth of character and emotion to each book. Alex’s Sacrifice hit the mark in drama, care and love.

As a fan of BDSM, Ms. Michaels’ attention to detail was wonderfully written as was her endeavor into M/M romance. Main characters Alex and Jarred were witty, sensual and sexual~ each in their own right and with each other. Alex’s smart-aleck attitude had me laughing aloud and cheering for a deserved spanking.

As a fan of Ms. Michaels, I look forward to reading more in this new series.
