Sin in Blue Jeans by Dakota Trace was part of the Bad Apples series (each book written by a different author). This is the first book I read in the anthology and each is a stand-alone.

Mason was an ex-con fresh out of jail when he met a woman at a bar that struck his fancy. A brief encounter and a co.. block drove him from the mystery woman and the hell out of dodge. Some years later, the voice attached to said woman strolled into his office trailer at the construction site he worked for in New York City.

Ryleigh was a safety inspector, part of a construction company dynasty, and a female in a family of law enforcement. Her one-night stand starred in many of her subsequent fantasies until he came to life again, before her eyes.

I enjoyed the book and I am a fan of many of Ms. Trace’s work, but there were also some reservations. I am not a fan of the daddy romcom and a so-so fan of domestic discipline. I know this is a personal choice in reading material, but it is not at the top of my list. 

Additionally, as a fan of Ms. Trace and knowing how well her writing can draw a reader into the story, I found Sin in Blue Jeans very reserved- something was missing. Maybe it was the BDSM fire I know the author so well for. I will assume (and I may be wrong) that her way of infusing some of what she is known best for was the insertion of domestic discipline. Unfortunately, it did not work for this reader. The story seemed forced and reined in.

The introduction of an ex nun who has no qualms about talking about hot and heavy sex or who takes in bad boys and helps straighten them out seemed like an afterthought. There one minute, gone the next. I wondered if she was needed.

All in all, if you are looking for a quick one-hour read at a great price, pick up Sin in Blue Jeans. Dakota Trace is one of my favorite authors and you can never go wrong reading her works- Sin in Blue Jeans was just not my cup of tea.

While he might not be the boss at the work, in the bedroom he ruled. This Valentine's Day being single is all the rage. At least that's what the website, Single Status says and they're not trying to set you up with your special someone. But, instead, give you the time of your life. Sign up a family member, a friend or join yourself. Single Status will send an anonymous letter with details of an activity for the day.

Dakota Trace has done it again with her Valentine short and HFN, Hands On. What’s a girl to do when she’s a tiger in the board room but the desire to submit in the bedroom runs hard beneath the surface? The only thing left is to seek out Single Status for a submissively good time of her life~ even if it’s only for one day.

Seraphina was a well-rounded character brought to life by Ms. Trace and her ability to write strong women into her stories. A sense of realism permeated throughout the story as the main character sought to assuage her kink, all the while being true to her nature both as the highly sought after ad exec and the wish to submit after lights out.

Caden, a member of Seraphina’s team, and a dominant with a ‘thing’ for the lovely exec queen, knew just where his needs were best laid~ assisting Seraphina find her submissiveness through the help of Single Status.

The twists and turns of the sexily led scavenger hunt added a new dimension to the short HFN, allowing enough information to be divulged while holding interest. Furthermore, the doors were led open for the author to continue the storyline by delving more into the lives of Seraphina and Caden. Not all tales can be told in one hundred pages or less, as life is not always wrapped in a red bow. But, Ms. Trace left enough on the table to entice her readers to return for additional installments. The characters were real, flawed, and relatable.

Another winner by the queen of sexy.

Obscene Ecstasy, Calypso’s Choice 3 was a sensual and sexy read. Dakota Trace always delivers a well written story with wonderfully imaginative characters. Lowell, Oliver, and Kristy fit that bill.

Once again the vixen Calypso had a lover’s wager with her pirate men, Warren and Davvy- create another match at her exclusive resort and reap the benefits of her doing when she succeeded. Succeeding placed her one step closer to her goal and the “arms” of Warren and Davvy wrapped around each other.

Club Ecstasy afforded Lowell and Oliver the opportunity to fulfill their hedonistic fantasies of having another being able to keep up with their sexual drive. Kristy, also with a voracious appetite, longed for a lover to keep her on the edge and in a blissfully orgasmic state. What she didn’t bargain for were two men willing to fulfill her every desire and need, if she was willing to submit to her fantasies.

What I enjoy about this series, is the connection Ms. Calypso has to the duo Davy Jones and the connection she created with her clients at Club Ecstasy. Every wish was realized and executed with satisfaction. The sexual encounters were imaginative and highly erotic, as Ms. Trace delivered spice and lustfulness.

The Calypso Choice books are not for the faint of heart. The language is crude, the sex mind blowing, not the prim-proper cup of tea. Be ready to feel this book in your marrow, and enjoy a post-orgasm glass of wine.

Unbeknownst to Shelli, James and Doyle already shared a past, so moving in on Shelli, through the help of Ms. Calypso, was just what the doctor ordered.

Fantasy came to life as Shelli met her uninhibited partners at the beautiful Club Ecstasy where the three set every available surface on fire and every whim became unadulterated.

The stigma Shelli began with, concerning her lust for two men, gave way to a delectable read as Ms. Trace forged ahead and wove Shelli’s insecurities into triumphs. James and Doyle were strong and handsome characters, soon learned they needed each other as much as they needed their woman.

LOVED the fantasy interrogation! What a different and innovative way to “get the information” James and Doyle sought from the not-so-prim and proper Shelli.

The innovative sex scenes were lusty and sexy. Ms. Trace left no stone unturned when she broiled the pages of my e-reader- descriptors that would make anyone blush.

Additionally, the back story of Calypso, Warren, and Davvy continued in Calypso’s plot to create her own threesome with her men of the Flying Dutchmen.

Sexy run amok as Dakota Trace led us on an adventure of…

Twice the Chance, Twice the Ecstasy was an erotic experience~ and if you’ve never had a fantasy of two hot men lusting after one woman, damn! you missed the boat. There was NOTHING sweet about this book and everything HOT.

Two stories unfolded as Calypso made a bargain with Warren and Davvy- the two men who made up the persona Davvy Jones- create human love matches in order to keep in their good favor. Calypso agreed to the terms, but simultaneously turned the tables on lover Warren in order to help fulfill Davvy’s unspoken fantasy.

In order to begin her task, Calypso casted her eyes on married couple Luca and Dre and the lovely, yet unattached Eryka.

Dakota Trace delivered unadulterated sex and bliss as Luca and Dre engaged in carnal activities with the repressed and very horny Eryka, on Ms. Calypso’s newest resort, Club Ecstasy in the West Caicos.

From beginning to end, this read provided erotica at its finest and in true Dakota Trace fashion. Imagery abound, Ms. Trace has the uncanny ability to transport the reader into a scene, creating a voyeuristic tendency and a fire in your loins. A nice chilled glass of wine was in order to make it through this hedonistically delivered story of unbridled sex.

Dre and Luca complimented each other with a synergy of sexual desire. Add the enigmatic Eryka, with a gusto for life and a sexual appetite in need of exposing, and no surface was safe. Their coupling, sexual frenzy, and shouts subdued the nature which inhabited the island.

Ms. Trace never failed to meld kinky with romantic. Run, don’t walk to get your copy of Twice the Chance, Twice the Ecstasy. But be warned. Serious sex awaits which may leave you quivering and reaching for your favorite toy or a willing mate.

Kaleb and Alyce were sophistically written (although I had a hard time connecting with Kaleb at the start- he rubbed me the wrong way with his smug attitude). But that changed quickly with the author’s masterful writing and storytelling.

Alyce’s daughter, was craftfully developed- a child with autism, Ms. Trace hit the mark in her research. This sweet child tugged at my heartstrings and made me want to throttle anyone hellbent on hurting her.

The chemistry between Kaleb and Alyce skyrocketed throughout with witty dialogue and steamy BDSM scenes. The sex was exquisite, so grab a glass of wine before sitting down to read this tasty morsel.

Kudos Ms. Trace for delivering another winner.

Hi all! I’d first like to thank Ms. Evelise for allowing me to take over her blog for the day. Thanksgiving is around the corner and I don’t know about you but I’m getting excited to make my favorite dishes for my family.  In fact  I promised Alyce, the heroine of Benevolent Master, that I would make  my family recipe for pumpkin pie, for her and her daughter - and to share with the new man in her life, if she chooses.  *shrugs*  We’re talking homemade pumpkin pie piled high with whipped cream...

As always the sex was sizzling as Ms. Trace took us from the greasy garage where Steven worked to the playroom where he and his mistress/wife, Hope, lived.

All too many times a D/s story is written with the man as the dominant, but Ms. Trace harnessed her inner goddess and created a strong, affectionate and loving woman-Hope- into a take-charge sexy creature whose desire was to pleasure her husband first and then herself. In my humble opinion many are fearful of writing or reading a Domme-driven tale because they believe a woman in charge can only be considered a bitch. Not the case, and Dakota Trace is not afraid to takes chances.

The D/s relationship worked for Steven and Hope, allowing him to release his control and for Hope to assert herself, drawing upon both their inclinations.

The writing was superb, flowed and gave the reader insight into the world of D/s, female style.

Kudos to Ms. Trace for writing another winner and making me turn down the air conditioner- this reader almost overheated.

Safeword Interrupted was a well-written and developed friends to lovers drama in only the style and fashion deliverable by Dakota Trace. Deacon and Bethany have been friends and co-workers for ages. Upon losing a bet, Bethany agrees to enter a temporary D/s relationship with Deacon. Intrigued by what she saw in his office and with the yearnings she now feels, Bethany has little choice but to allow the fantasy to play out. For Bethany though, the fantasy becomes all too real as her feelings for Deacon flourish and unbeknownst to her, the playboy Dominant has taken his role in her life very seriously and to the next level.

As always, Ms. Trace elicited a myriad of emotions from this reader as I forged ahead through the book. If truth be known, Deacon was not my favorite character and I lamented over my inclination to despise him. His arrogance and self-indulgence left me seething with a desire for Bethany to toss him aside. But, patience being a virtue and Ms. Trace being aptly talented, my heart soon opened to Deacon and his misgivings—much of which stemmed from his childhood—Deacon soon won me over as a man of his word and a dominant.

Bethany’s characterization was a strong woman who fought for what she believed to be right and in the best interest of herself, her unborn child and even Deacon.

Together the two characters waded through the trials and tribulations of beginning a D/s relationship and Bethany’s reluctance to step into the lifestyle. Dakota Trace never leaves a stone unturned in her research of a topic and her mastery of transferring emotions from character to reader is flawless.

Kudos Dakota!

Deacon waited to see if Bethany would obey or if she’d continue to cling to the sheet and her false modesty.

Images of how he’d make her pay for her rebellion flashed before his eyes. His favorite of course, was bending her over his lap and warming her ass. But she dashed those thoughts when she dropped the bedding, letting it pool around her ankles. He didn’t bother to stop the soft groan from escaping his chest. Standing in a pool of sunlight, her lush curves backlit with her blond hair shining like an angel’s halo, she reminded him of heaven on earth. One he was definitely going to explore once they got back from the caverns.

“Now come here.” It was difficult but he kept his tone even.

She took halting steps towards him, finally stopping about three feet from him.

She inched closer, then stopped. He sighed dramatically before wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her up against him. “Better. Now kiss me.”

Her lips parted, and for a moment, he thought she would baulk but instead she lifted up on tiptoe and pressed her mouth to his. He savored the rich taste of coffee on her lips while she pressed a bit harder. He waited to see what she’d do. How far she’d go. He almost caved when her tongue rubbed over the seam of his lips before darting back into her mouth. If she thought that her little tease would coax him into playing, she was sadly mistaken. He continued to let her kiss him, not actively participating until a low frustrated moan escaped her. Then he took mercy on her, spearing his tongue inside her mouth. She gave a happy sigh as her tongue rubbed over his.

By the time he lifted his head, he was precariously close to saying screw it and tossing her back onto the bed. Only his plans of seducing not only her body but her mind as well kept him from giving into his baser urges. He had a plan. He drew back and slowly released her.

“Go shower, sweetheart. Before I forget my good intentions.” He curled his fingers into fists. Anything to keep from reaching out and taking what was his – at least for the duration of Spring Break.
