S.E.X. Spotlight~ V.L. Locey~ Two Man Advantage

Blurb: Victor Kalinski, all-star forward for the Boston Barracudas, is one of the biggest jerks in professional hockey. Before long his aggressive attitude gets him shipped off to play in the minor leagues.
Furious, he takes to the ice with equal amounts of skill and scathing sarcasm, which doesn’t win him any friends—except for good-natured alternate captain Daniel Arou. He won’t take any of Vic’s crap, and he won’t take no for an answer.

But Vic’s troublemaking is pulling his career one way while Dan’s talent is pushing his in the other. However much they scorch the sheets, they might soon be separated by more than Vic’s fear of being hurt.

Inside Scoop:  This book contains scorching gay sex and a heaping helping of no-holds-barred snark between hot hockey heroes who don’t pull their punches.

R (Explicit Language, Gay Sexual Situations):

I was soaping up my head when I heard the bathroom door squeak. I froze, hands on my head, shampoo foam sneaking down my temples.

“Hey, Kalinski? I’m sorry if I touched a sore spot, okay?”

There I stood, like a carving of the Roman shampoo god Dandrufficus, silent and stony. I was aching for something but didn’t know what.
No. That’s a miserable-ass lie. I ached to see Arou pull back the thin shower curtain, step over the side of the tub and kiss me into forgetting my tenth birthday…and my eleventh…and my fourteenth as well. I cleared my throat.

“Yeah, whatever,” I said loudly enough to be heard over the rushing water. The plastic curtain rustled when he closed the door. My fingers slipped from my head to hang by my thighs. Eyes closed, I stepped forward. The stream beat down on my head, filling my ears with water and bubbles. I could still hear Dan just on the other side of the shower curtain. My shoulder muscles tensed.

“I tend to let my mouth run away with me sometimes, you know?”

“Yeah, I know how that goes."

Taking a step back, I glanced at the dark form outside the curtain. He must be lounging on the small sink. There wasn’t room for two men in here, especially me and Daniel Arou. I turned to let the water beat the tension from my upper back.

“I didn’t mean any harm,” Dan said. I placed my hands on the tiles, not even seeing the mildew on the grout. Why the fuck was this man apologizing? “I’m sorry if your childhood was rough.”
Yep, that was the clincher. I threw the curtain to the right so hard the old, brittle plastic tore off several of the rusty metallic shower rings. Dan lifted his head quickly from his study of his feet.

“You don’t know shit about me or my childhood. For your information, asscrack, what I said was a joke!” I snarled, pointing a finger at him.

He stared at me. Water was dripping from my finger to the floor. His eyes betrayed him. I saw the long, hungry look. My accusatory digit fluttered downward. My cock began to rise to take my pointy-finger’s place. Dan grew slightly pale, mumbled something, then tripped over his large feet out the bathroom door.

I exited the shower. Just stepped out. Left the water running, wetting the floor, and followed the stupid shit. Dan was facing the front door, his back as stiff as my prick.

“I was not checking you out,” he said through clenched teeth.

I stood about a foot behind him, my dick at attention.
“Yeah, you were,” I said. A horn blew outside in the parking lot. A round of male guffaws followed. My wet skin was starting to get chilly. The heater in the room was locked at fifty-five. “I told you I’m not gay.”

“Neither am I,” he said rapidly. Too rapidly.

Yeah, I knew how this was going to go. I had been hiding my bisexuality since I was old enough to like looking at other guys’ packages in the high school locker room. While things were changing for LGBT players, a ton of us were still pretending.

“That’s too bad,” I said, taking a step closer to him. The floor creaked. He sucked in a short breath. His gasp made me smile. “Seems a gay dude and a bi guy in the same room could be honest with each other at the very least.”
That announcement brought the sexy little shit around in a hurry. One dark eyebrow was climbing up his forehead. Those startlingly blue eyes dropped downward. He licked his bottom lip. My cock began to weep.

“You’re bi?”

“Yeah, and right now I would like nothing better than to jack you up against that dresser and kiss you into a state of delirium.”

Dan wet his lips again. Either he was trying to turn me on, which was a wasted effort given how hard my dick was for the man, or it was a nervous tic. Whatever, it was making me crazy. I rolled my hands into fists to keep them from reaching for him.

“Look, stubby, I need a reply here,” I groaned a minute later. Maybe I had misread his signals. Fuck knows I do it often enough with chicks. Guys are usually less confusing, but not always. “If you’re not up for getting laid, speak up now and I’ll go back into the shower, take care of this boner, then pretend this little conversation never took place.”

Another horn blew in the parking lot. Raucous laughter erupted outside our window. The Cougars were bored. Dan reached behind his back to lock the door. Well. Fuck. Me. I suddenly felt lightheaded.

S.E.X. Review~ Spirit on Fire by Katlyn Conrad

Samantha wants a normal life but the were world won’t leave the sexy new shaman alone. An outcast, she has the potential to control were spirits of all kinds—if only she can figure out how. When she encounters a red-hot demon were, everything she never wanted to know about the supernatural gets turned on its head.

The fire demon Marek claims he’s been ordered to kill Samantha but he’s disobeying the command. He’s come to save her instead, so they can work together against his sadistic vampire master. Demons are notorious liars, so Samantha has her doubts but no choice. A common cause—survival—draws them together and cool suspicion turns to sexual heat.

Spirit on Fire was a quick-paced novella that took an intriguingly different spin on the paranormal world. Samantha, Sam, was a Shaman, slightly damaged, unconventional and a target for an evil vampire looking to get rid of her. Marek, a demon, had been ordered to kill the shaman, but decided to band with her to eradicate the vampire demon who governed his life. Together, Sam and Marek began a journey of discovery into their own were abilities and their sexual attraction.

Katlyn Conrad delivered an aptly written tale of a slow journey from need to friendship to love. The relationship build- up between the main characters allowed for love to form in spite of the lurking evil and treachery. Marek and Sam controlled their destiny, reflected through Ms. Conrad’s writing.

A wonderful start to her new series Shamans and Shifters- a captivating paranormal spin, charismatic characters and lots of hot sex.

Forbidden love…Undeniable passion

Excerpt (HOT)

“You’re tough on a man’s pride, baby.”

“I’m just telling the truth.” She drew a deep breath into her lungs, hoping to lessen the lust adding a husky edge to it. “Your kisses are nice.” Another inhale filled her lungs with Josh’s rich signature. Quivers danced along her inner walls. Her pent-up air escaped in a rush. “That’s it. Nice, not spectacular.”

He dropped to his knees. She tensed. With her skirt pushed up, he had a perfect view of her panties, blue to match his eyes. He didn’t peek or try to touch her intimately. He lifted her calf and kissed his way up to her knee, teasing the crease with quick flicks of his tongue before moving higher.

Her heart knocked hard against her ribcage. He couldn’t mean to kiss her…there. A fresh wave of arousal flowed. She inched her bottom closer.

“What are…”

He nipped her sensitive flesh. She barely stopped her answering moan from escaping.

“What are,” she dragged in a shaky breath, “you doing?”

“Trying to rebuild my self-esteem, kitten.” He raised his head. With his heated eyes on her, he reached up and caressed her inner thigh. “I can’t let you walk away from me unsatisfied. Now, can I?”
“You don’t have to…I mean, this isn’t…”

He brushed his knuckles against her dripping sex. Her rebuttal turned into a groan. He fisted her panties. A rough tug and the thong ripped, the sound of tearing cloth echoing in her ears along with her pounding pulse.

He shoved her skirt up. With the loose material pooled around her on the desk, he dropped his gaze to her sex.

“Fucking beautiful.”

The desire adding a low drawl to his voice fed hers. She squirmed. A hand on her thigh stopped her restless writhing. He trailed his fingers over her scorching skin, from her knee to her slickened cleft. She panted.

He spread her lower lips and blew warm air on her sensitive opening. Her head fell back on a moan. “This gorgeous sex is mine, Mira. You know it. I know it.”

What a book! Favorite Obsession kept this reader captivated from the very first page. Josh and Mira were wonderful characters -spellbound, I was intrigued and engrossed in their story.

Mira was a royal destined to mate and reproduce a new generation of special cubs. For Mira though, life had not been easy, neither as a woman, royal, or pride member. And if circumstances were not dire enough she fell in love with a human, Josh.

Josh, the epitome of alpha male, delivered strength and class as he traversed the line between the humans and shifters. His loving demeanor emanated through Ms. Corrigan's writing; creating a worthy character, regardless of the realm he walked.

Nancy Corrigan described a world where the character transformation and reality did not circumvent the realism of human-shifter relations. This world was realistic and held fast to any civilization.

The sexual build up throughout the story was just as hot and steamy as the sexual encounters themselves. Josh’s dominance over Mira soothed her loins, spirit and cats. Fates intervention left little doubt that Josh would rise to great things and was Mira’s true mate.

Ms. Corrigan kept the story of past characters alive as they interwove into the lives of Josh and Mira, accentuating their story and further catapulting the others.

A love worth fighting for, a conquering hero, and a sexy feline made Favorite Obsession a worthy read.

Several minutes passed before the doorknob turned and the scent of evergreen and moss swept into the room. The soft click of the bedroom door sounded overly loud in her ears. She froze, suddenly very aware of her racing pulse. Nerves or anticipation? She sighed. With the way her body reacted to him, probably both.

The bed dipped as he crawled toward her. His slow approach made her heart knock hard against her ribcage. She hated how much she yearned for him.

He skimmed his fingers across her shoulder, down her arm to linger at her wrist. “Morning, baby. How are you feeling?”

His rumbly voice made her stomach flutter. She clenched her hands until her nails dug into her palms. The bite of pain distracted her from thinking about the man she should fear but couldn’t help desiring.

“Better.” She swallowed hard. “I…umm, want to…” Strong hands lifted hers and the slight contact zapped her thoughts. The unexplainable lust returned and mixed with the longing. She couldn’t get her mind to work. “Talk. I want to talk.”

“Me too. We have a lot to talk about.”

Instead of asking any of the questions she knew he had, he gently pulled back her fingers, kissing each one before pressing his mouth to her palm. His touch branded her and filled her with warmth. Her breathing quickened. An answering groan spilled from his throat.

“My sisters…I called them.”

“Are they safe?”

The butterflies in Jazz’s belly took flight. The man was a romantic. “You know, I’m starting to enjoy the odd way you talk. It makes me feel as if I walked into a world where princesses wait to be swept away by their knight in shining armor.”

Rafe grinned, the sad look replaced by amusement. Releasing her hands, he slid his around her waist. “You would make a beautiful princess.”

“Would I?”

“One to be fought for.” He twirled a lock of her hair around a finger. “What about me? Would I fill the role of your knight in shining armor?”

She smiled, completely charmed by this man. She ran her hands over his chest, luxuriated in the layers of muscle under her palms. “I don’t know if any horse would be able to carry you for long. I see you more as a warrior, a conqueror.”

“One who demands the bonny ladies as his reward after a battle?” He swept her into his arms. She gasped and grabbed his shoulders. Lust heated his eyes as he mapped her face. “Oh yes, I like this fantasy and in it I get to choose you as my booty.” He bent his head closer so his golden eyes filled her vision. “I think I might keep you, Jasmine.”

Her breath hitched. “I think you have a wild imagination.”

“Or a hopeful one.” He eased back but watched her with that focused gaze she was starting to associate with him. “I want you.”

The lust-hazed glint to his eyes told her exactly what he wanted. For once in her life, she did too—but it couldn’t happen. She had responsibilities. Spontaneity and motherhood did not mesh. The little episode in Josh’s office proved that. She would’ve been mortified if Sara walked in while they were having sex. Everyone in town would’ve known within the hour. The other playgroup moms would find out, maybe shun her or at least look at her negatively. No. Any liaisons she had would have to be planned and kept hidden.

She licked her upper lip. “I haven’t had sex in a really long time, Rafe.” She dropped her gaze and stared at his chin. “What we did tonight wasn’t like me either. I’m not like that. Easy.”

He brushed his lips over her forehead. “I know.” He set her on her feet and took her hand. “Come, let’s get you home.”

Unexpected Find by Nancy Corrigan was a gem and a wonderful start to the Royal Pride series. Royals are a different and peculiar class of shifters- they house three cats in their spirits. WOW! What an interesting concept and Ms. Corrigan pulled it off. Rafe is such a royal and upon meeting the sexy spitfire Jazz, the man and his cats immediately desired the human as their mate. Although they do not have destined mates, as long as the pull and attraction is there, and human and animals are in agreement, a mating can occur. Problem? Of course. They do not mate humans- they are untrustworthy. Someone better tell that to Rafe, because he is determined to capture the human vixen and have her as his mate.

Jazz knows about shifters and doesn’t trust them as far as she can throw one. Upon befriending a cat shifter, stalked by her husband and killed after giving birth, Jazz soon became a mother to beautiful twin boys, both shifters. Protecting them with her life, Jazz raised Seth and Levi as her own until one fateful night when she encountered Rafe and his pride. And let the craziness begin….

Ms. Corrigan told a tale of intrigue and desire. Each character brought a different facet to the story that enhanced and intrigued this reader. I became enmeshed in their stories and subsequently wanted to know more about them- their pasts, potential futures, their thoughts and their loves.

The sexual heat between Rafe and Jazz took off from the moment they met and never relented throughout the book. Whether it was mind blowing kisses or orgasmic copulation, the tension and passion never wavered. Ms. Corrigan kept me captivated and panting. Kick back with a glass of wine and get ready for a ride of sexual frenzy.

Unexpected surprises and encounters along the way gave way to a story that was fast paced and captivating. Ms. Corrigan’s style of writing is refreshing and drew me in hook, line and sinker. Ms. Corrigan can add a new fan to her list. I look forward to reading more in the series. No, I need to read more in the series.
