S.E.X. Review~ Wolfmanny by Julia Talbot

Three hot werewolves, sexual tension thick enough to cut with a knife, an impending Colorado winter, and a rambunctious pack of werewolf pups. Stand back and watch the fur fly.

When Kenneth Marcon loses his nanny to a bite from one of his inherited kids, he knows he needs someone strong to contain five werewolf children. What he finds isn’t a stalwart nanny, but a werewolf manny named Jack. Kenneth and his assistant, Miles, aren’t sure if Jack is what they need, but he’s what they have to work with.

Jack’s got what it takes to keep the kids busy—and attract both Miles’s and Kenneth’s attention. The two old friends have been circling each other for years, but with Jack as the final piece to the puzzle, it’s time to finally act on those urges. When Kenneth is forced to travel instead of solidifying the bond with his new mates, Jack and Miles take desperate measures to get him back, even as they save the kids from one disaster after another. Amidst the chaos, they have to learn how to become not just a pack, but a family.

Wolfmanny, by Julia Talbot was an adorable tale set in the pack world. Nose to Tail, Inc specialized in mannies/guards for pack children of all types. Kenneth, alpha to his pack, just lost another nanny- an ostrich- who was bitten by one of his wolf children. Enter Jack- manny and mercenary- and just the man for the job, in more ways than one.

Miles, Kenneth’s long-time friend, beta, and all-around right-hand man was in love with Kenneth, but neither Kenneth nor Miles ever took the next step. Until Jack.

Jack not only ran a tight ship when it came to the kids, but was the missing piece of Kenneth and Miles, bringing the three of them together as the mates they were supposed to be.

I liked this book. It was light, dreamy, and oh so funny. Even with the underlying drama, I found myself chuckling more than not. The twins, Joe and Jim were absolutely adorable and always up to something. The other children were equally page stealers with all the antics and great dialogue.

Ms. Talbot brought levity, love, and a bit of lustfulness- and sometimes a tad bit emotional. I enjoyed the dynamics the author created between the pack members- children and mates.
A nice quick read.

Being a new member of the undead sect has its ups and downs, something that newly embraced Akio Lee is finding out first hand. Being able to spend eternity with his beloved Vincente, the man who introduced him to life in the nightside, is a definite up. Having to feed on strangers? That’s one of the downsides, and something that Akio is finding difficult to swallow. But what other option is there for a recently wed vampire couple who need blood to survive?

Finding a new donor perhaps? One who comes into the lifestyle willingly, as Akio had done, and is open to the unique and sensual relationship that develops when three men have a blood bond. A man who can exist in both the nightside and the dayside worlds. A man like Ian O’Keeffe, the handsome caretaker of the manse Akio and Vincente now call home? Ian seems to tick every box Akio and Vincente have—he’s comfortable around vampires, he’s obviously into men, he’s drop-dead gorgeous, he’s more than a little mischievous, and he’s human. Mostly.

But will the outgoing handyman be willing to offer two vampires his vein, his body, and his heart?

V.L. Locey loves worn jeans, yoga, belly laughs, Dr. Who, Torchwood, walking, reading and writing lusty tales, Greek mythology, the New York Rangers, comic books, and coffee. (Not necessarily in that order.) She shares her life with her husband, her daughter, one dog, two cats, two Jersey steers and a flock of assorted domestic fowl.

When not writing lusty tales, she can be found enjoying her day with her menagerie in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania with a cup of fresh java in hand.

Nightside, An Erie Vampire Tale by V.L. Locey was a great read. Adventurous, vampires, and a dose of humor, the story was everything I’d hoped and then some. Vampires Akio and Vicente were happily married; Akio recently embraced by Vicente- an ancient vampire and the love of his life. I liked the world building and different turn Ms. Locey wrote; as vampires could not sustain each other, but needed to hunt to survive. Unfortunately, this was where the story took a different turn, as Akio despised hunting, making it difficult to sustain himself.

Enter Ian-handyman of the manse and descendant of leprechauns- found himself enamored with the two vamps.

The dynamics between the three was well written and described. Ms. Locey took this reader on a roller coaster of interest and intrigue with a lot of unanswered questions for hopefully more books to come. I have not read the previous books attached to this series, yet I was not lost. I will though go back and read the other stories in the series.

A nice change from the standard vamp stories.

Room for One More, Herc’s Mercs 8, by the writing duo Ari McKay was a nice addition to this very popular series. A little insta-love, a lot of drama, and loads of sex appeal, Room for One More hit all the right buttons.

Joe and Finn were a sexy duo, professional partners and friends with lots of benefits, until Drew entered the picture and tilted both their worlds on a different axis, although not for the same reasons.

I enjoyed the personalities of Joe and Finn, although at times it was difficult to reconcile the heavy handed mercs with the insecurities of their personal lives. I think Drew’s character did a great job of tempering the two men until they were able to come to an understanding.

The insta-love occurred at lightening speed, but did not throw me out of the story. The back story and the supporting cast enhanced the overall storyline and kept it interesting- some heavy themes.

Herc’s Mercs is a series well worth reading from the start, and Room for One More only enhanced it even more.

S.E.X. Review~ Lover by TM Smith

Lover – A Survivor story

Life has not always been kind to Shannon Dupree. On the outside he’s carefree and fun loving, but when it comes to his past he’s evasive and secretive. Running away from emotionally bereft parents at just fifteen, Shannon escapes life with them but steps into the waiting arms of the devil.

Rory Landers is a rising star at the Bureau. His personal life, however, is nothing to write home about. He hopes to take his limited relationship with Frank Moore to the next level when they finally solve the Langford murder case, but that doesn’t turn out as planned. On the plus side, he meets free-spirited college senior Shannon Dupree.

Rand Davis finds himself fortysomething and single when his partner of more than a decade is unfaithful. Taking over the Cold Case Squad frees up some of his time, and Rand welcomes newfound friendships within the Langford-Moore family circle. He thinks relationships are not in the cards for him until he meets an agent with an attitude and a vivacious blond that make him want so much more.

Past, present, pain, and suffering collide, ushering in the possibility of a life and love worth fighting for. Although their personalities couldn't be more different, their three hearts beat the same. Shannon, Rory, and Rand learn the definition of love, commitment, and strength and if they allow themselves, the trio will find all that and more—in each other.

TM Smith’s follow-up to Survivor, Lover was a wonderful addition to the trilogy. Shannon, Rory, and Rand were electric not only in the sexual department, but everyday life.

The veil of secrecy following the main characters from their persona of book one came to a forefront. Now that as readers, we know who all the players are, the story was able to take off and drive itself through Ms. Smith’s careful pen.

I adored Shannon and his survival attitude. Rand and Rory were stoic men and brought forth a stability to the story. Together, the three men united and were stronger in the end.

The drama was well written and the story flowed. I’m loving this series and can’t wait for the next book. Ms. Smith’s style of writing draws the reader in and captivates. I couldn’t get enough!

WELCOME TO BRAWLERS BAR…

If there was a way to destroy his life, Hunter Black could do it. He was a catastrophe waiting to happen. Survival was his only priority and having to leave his old life behind meant a job of the legal variety. He’d found one as a bartender at Brawlers Bar and a safe place in a huge house with the rest of the bar crew who quickly became the family he’d never had. The one thing

Hunter didn’t need was his old life tracking him down.

Deputy Wren Gramble hated his job and his weekend assignment of staking out a bar in the middle of nowhere waiting for drunks. Although he’d heard the homophobic and racist jokes going around about the crew and customers, he kept his head down and stuck to his job and nothing else. He despised being driven back into the closet, but he’d reached the end of the line, and he didn’t know what he’d do if he earned another transfer.

Linus Trenton was considered the normal one in his family and according to the weird ones that meant he should be punished daily. He never came out one way or another, if he found someone attractive, he was attracted. His life was complicated enough having a crush on the sweet and awkward Hunter, but now he had to throw Wren into the mix. Linus didn’t have time for dating or romance, most of the time he didn’t even think about having a sex life. Although, Wren and Hunter were ruining his calm.

Hunter was in lust with the handsome deputy the minute the man pulled him over, but a man like that wouldn’t give him the time of day. His friend, Linus, was another matter altogether. Hunter wanted both. His bosses made it work with their man, why couldn’t he? Could Hunter prove he wasn’t as much of a screw up as he appeared or would he have to call in backup to claim his men?

Author Bio

J.M. Dabney is a multi-genre author who writes mainly LGBT romance and fiction. She lives with a constant diverse cast of characters in her head. No matter their size, shape, race, etc. she lives for one purpose alone, and that’s to make sure she does them justice and give them the happily ever after they deserve. J.M. is dysfunction at its finest and she makes sure her characters are a beautiful kaleidoscope of crazy. There is nothing more she wants from telling her stories than to show that no matter the package the characters come in or the damage their pasts have done, that love is love. That normal is never normal and sometimes the so-called broken can still be amazing.

The Brawlers crew continued to grow in JM Dabney's fourth Brawlers serial, Hunter. I was thrilled with the addition of a ménage as Hunter, Wren, and Linus found friendship, companionship, and love.

Each man brought a particular facet to the budding relationship. Hunter, the soft-spoken peace maker, Linus, the gruff and sometimes petulant bear, and Wren, the deputy sandwiched between the two trying to be true to his chosen profession.

Ms. Dabney created a synergy between the three men which flowed through the story. The dynamics gave way to a substantial storyline- captivating this readers attention. With each book, I fell in love more so with each character.

I look forward to seeing where Ms. Dabney takes us on the next Brawlers adventure. Her world building is captivating and flawless.

S.E.X. Review~ Cherished by Two by Morticia Knight

Destiny rewards those who embrace it.
Chris and his alien soul matches, Lasar and Nary, are ready to deepen their new bond as mates. It’s also time for Chris to begin his training as a Nasha, or sub, and for Nary to embrace his new role as Ahna, or Dom, to Chris. As three in the soul match, they are unique. Not only have Alasharians never matched with a human, they’ve never matched as three.
What makes them special also puts them in danger. The Supreme Soul Healer warned Chris that many changes were ahead, ones even more startling than the original invasion. They must keep their bond a secret until they know who they can trust.
As Ahna to both Nary and Chris, Lasar carries the responsibility of protecting his mates. A proud Alasharian warrior and commander, he’ll stop at nothing to keep them safe and to help Chris find his missing mother and sisters. To make sure that Chris’ cousin Morgan isn’t sent back to the slave cages, he’s also arranged for a fellow commander to take Morgan into his care when he returns from battle.
Lasar and Nary are invited to a pleasure party by the Alasharian’s leader, the Nall, and are forced to bring Chris and Morgan. But a terrifying turn of events sets in motion what might be the beginning of the end for them all, unless they can resist the void.
Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of dubious consent, non-consent and violence.

The second installment in the Soul Match series by Morticia Knight hit all my buttons. Cherished by Two, although at times dark, delivered a triad of love and understanding in a new world on the cusp of annihilation and discovery. Having a better understanding of the world-building written by Ms. Knight in Slave for Two, I grasped the depth and complications of the Alasharian race and their need for dominance and survival.

Ms. Knight created a paradigm within a known reality, thus further cementing her ability to weave a tale, which led me on an imaginary ride. Her imagery when describing Lasar and Nary left little to the imagination, bringing them to the forefront of the tangled story, along with their human mate, Chris.

The infusion of mysticism in an already sci-fi story was aptly done and appropriate for the navigation of this new world on earth.

Cherished by Two delivered twists and turns and opened the doors for further human- Alasharian matches.

The emotional and physical connection between the triad was heated and sexy. Each scene carefully crafted and necessary for the story to unfold. An HFN which promises to eventually deliver a HEA- Cherish by Two was worth the read.

S.E.X. Review~Three New Wishes by Sean Michael

Come to Rainbow Island, where all your sexual fantasies will come true.
James, Guard and Damien continue to grant the sexual fantasies of their clients, but so far have been unable to make Rainbow Island work for their own relationship. Damien misses being home more often with his lovers and Guard has been working on breaking down James’ defenses. Can they make their own fantasies come true?
As always, three different fantasies are granted through Rainbow Island.
Tim is rich and bored. A sometimes sub he’s searching for something more. Full time Dom, Rain, is brought in to give Tim the 24/7 experience he’s been looking for, but Rain has a secret—he’s been watching Tim in the club for years, just waiting for Tim to get serious before making his move. Can these two men find what they need in each other?
Mike has been hired to be a submissive. He doesn’t know that much about the lifestyle. He figures he can handle it—besides, the payday is too good to give up. Dom Brendan is handsome and confident, and the things he shows Mike speak to something deep inside him. Could he have found something more than just another job in Brendan?
Angus and Robbie are a committed Dom/sub pair who want to spice things up a little and see if puppy play is for them. They’re excited and nervous to learn from Sam, the puppy master that Rainbow Island has brought in to show them the ropes. They discover there’s more to puppy play than they’d imagined and not all of it is for them. Can they separate what they need from what they want and come out stronger than ever in the end?
Reader Advisory: This book contains fisting, scenes of puppy play and the use of urethral sounds.

Three New Wishes by Sean Michael was a wonderful addition to the Rainbow Island series. Guard, Damien, and James were back to grant wishes for others and repair their tenuous relationship.

I always enjoyed reading about the wonderful trio and the fantasies they created for others. Each fantasy was self-contained and added a depth into the psyche of the characters.

Tim and Rain developed a full-time D/s relationship from great attraction and the need the take care of each other. I enjoyed their story and the way they meticulously created a rich bond.

Mike and Brendan also hit all the buttons with their sexual chemistry.

Angus and Robbie, already and established couple, desired to spice up their sexual relationship with puppy play and secured Master Sam for assistance. My least favorite of the stories, but absolutely no reflection on Ms. Michael's writing- just not this reader’s thing, but I'd never pass on a Sean Michael book.

Collectively the fantasies were bold and daring and created an atmosphere of sexual tension and gratification. Additionally, the Rainbow Island trio tugged at my heart strings as they bore through insecurities and insurmountable odds to come out better on the other side - and together.
