Alliance (Torsere Book 3) by [Annabelle Jacobs]With war, comes sacrifice….

With the elves at his side, Ryneq fights to keep Seran and his soldiers at bay. But they’re not prepared for the witch using old dark magic. As Nykin and the dragon riders battle a deadly attack, an unexpected betrayal forces Ryneq to make a difficult decision.

Faced with the prospect of losing his kingdom, Ryneq gambles on a plan that could ultimately save Torsere, if only they can stay alive long enough to see it through.

Featuring magic, suspense, and danger in the final instalment of this romantic fantasy.

A fantastic ending to Annabelle Jacobs Torsere series, Alliance was everything I hoped it would be. While I enjoyed book 1 and 2, there were certain elements that rubbed this reader the wrong way- nothing major, and maybe more my personal pet peeves, but none the less. On the other hand, Alliance was the culmination of a wonderful read and the ending made my heart smile.

Seran and his witch catapulted themselves in Torserian territory in the hopes of destroying and taking over the land. Ryneq and Nykin, along with the elves and the other dragon riders prepared for battle and the defense of their homeland.

The relationship between Ryneq and Nykin flourished in Alliance and they became the king and consort I longed for. Their love for each other radiated through Ms. Jacobs writing and she allowed them to blossom. Each man dealt with his own misgivings and responsibilities, but together they became stronger.

No spoilers, but all was not well in the land of Torsere, and a few tears were shed. The world building, the writing- a job well done by Ms. Jacobs keeping this reader entertained.

Definite S.E.X.

S.E.X. Review~ Union by Annabelle Jacobs

Union (Torsere Book 2) by [Annabelle Jacobs]Can magic save them before it’s too late….

After the defeat of the Lowland Army, King Seran is still at large, and Torsere needs the Elves’ protection more than ever. Nykin returns to his duty as a dragon rider and accompanies Ryneq to the Elven city of Alel to witness the joining of their two realms through marriage.

As the wedding approaches, the dragons sense a malevolent presence lurking at Alel’s borders. Nykin and Fimor take to the skies to patrol the magical city, but as the evil grows more potent, the enchanted boundary surrounding Alel grows weaker.
Working alongside the elven guard, Nykin and Ryneq once again ride headfirst into danger as they struggle to protect Torsere from Seran’s thirst for revenge.

Featuring magic, suspense, and danger in the continuation of this romantic fantasy.
Previously released through Dreamspinner.

Union by Annabelle Jacobs picked up where Capture left off and I was sucked in! While I loved the storyline and the dragons and dragon riders were amazing, I was a tad bit confused by Ryneq and Nykin’s relationship once Ryneq announced Nykin as his consort.

The dynamics and interaction between the two men was well done, but in my mind Nykin should have been more “elevated” in everyone’s eyes as Ryneq’s consort.- Maybe just a pet peeve of mine.

In book one I was leery of the elves, but they proved to be a trustworthy group with interesting personalities that enhanced the dynamics between themselves and the Torsereans.

Once again, the dragon, especially Fimor stole the show. His sarcastic wit was right up my alley.

Overall, I am enjoying the series and looking forward to Ms. Jacobs final book in the trilogy.

S.E.X. Review~ Capture by Annabelle Jacobs

Thrown together, forced to fake a relationship both their lives depend on…

To be a dragon rider is all Nykin ever wanted. Destined from birth, and forged by magic at the age of twenty-one, he earns his place in the king’s army. But it’s not the only thing he dreams of. Lusting after the king maybe be foolish, but that doesn’t stop Nykin’s pulse from racing whenever he’s near.

Ryneq always knew he’d rule Torsere one day, but never expected it to happen quite so soon. The death of his parents forced him into a role he wasn’t prepared for and a romantic attachment is low on his list of priorities. Yet still Nykin manages to catch his interested and hold it.

With his land under threat from the lowland armies, an alliance with the elves seems Ryneq’s only option to protect the kingdom. But seeing it to fruition is fraught with danger and even the best laid plans can be thwarted. With hope all but lost, Nykin embarks on a deadly mission, willing risk everything for his duty and his king.

Featuring forced proximity, fake relationships, all wrapped up in a romantic fantasy full of suspense and intrigue. Capture is the first book in the Torsere trilogy.

Previously published with Dreamspinner Press.

I enjoyed Capture (Torsere Book 1) by Annabelle Jacobs. Not usually a fan of books that require a glossary, Capture did not disappoint and the book was easy to follow. The King of Torsere, Ryneq and dragon rider Nykin made an imposing pair. Circumstances brought the two men together for the greater good of the kingdom and the safety of all, allowing them to also explore their attraction and act upon it.

I enjoyed the personalities of both Ryneq and Nykin, but especially the dragon rider. Fimor the bonded dragon to Nykin stole the show with his humor and wit. Slightly temperamental, the dragon added to the overall storyline and gave the reader a greater glimpse between rider and dragon.

Ms. Jacobs’s world was unique with twists and turns and open ended to allow the evolution of the subsequent books. As a fan of Ms. Jacobs, I look forward to reading the remainder of the series.
