S.E.X. Review~ Revenge is Sweet by Felice Stevens

Falling in Love is the Sweetest Revenge
What do you do when your best friend runs off with your fiancée on your wedding day?
If you’re me, Lyon Elliot, you don’t get mad.
You get even.
Which means seducing my
ex–best friend’s younger brother, Miles Halloran.
The quiet one.
The man I’ve known all my life but never paid attention to.
The one I was told to stay away from because he’s way too nice for someone like me. Maybe they’re right.
But see, this is where it gets a little more complicated.
Because the more time I spend with Miles, the more I like him.
Want him.
Now I need him and his sweet smiles in my life.
If this is still a game I’m playing...who’s fooling whom?

As an avid fan of Felice Stevens, I could not wait to get my hands on Revenge is Sweet. I must admit, as I read the book, I was not enamored with either Lyon or Miles. But, as always, Ms Stevens’ writing and ability to capture a character’s emotional space led me to falling for them- side note- I never and still do not like Dan and Lindsey!

Revenge is Sweet started as a plot for Lyon to ‘have’ Miles in an effort to get back at Dan for skipping town with his fiancĂ©- on their wedding day. Of course, what started as revenge led to a road of self-discovery, awoken feelings, and love.

Miles was perfect for Lyon. Although he started out as unsure of himself, he soon grew into a bold figure with a good head on his shoulders and a penchant for falling for the ‘bad boy’. Together Miles and Lyon found their groove and complimented each other in every way.

Betrayal, anger, and heartache led to true love and another sure-fire winner for Felice Stevens.

S.E.X. Review~ Moving On by Felice Stevens

When his roof caves in, Sean Lovett thinks things can't get any worse. Until he loses his job, adding yet another bump in the rocky road of his life. None of his so-called friends can—or will—help. And asking a favor from his abusive ex? Hard pass. Luckily, his sister comes to the rescue and offers him a great apartment—in the city, no less—until he can get back on his feet.
Sweet deal.
Until a gorgeous man unlocks the front door and strolls right in with a grumpy attitude and a claim that his boss—who happens to be Sean’s brother-in-law—promised him the same apartment.
Former NYPD detective Tristan McDermott hasn’t stopped running since the death of his best friend. After almost two years of living in his own personal hell, he returns home to New York, hoping he can move on, but guilt still follows his every step. He's grateful to have the perfect apartment until he can settle into a place of his own. But there’s a cute guy already living there. And only one bedroom. And no way is Tristan leaving. He’s staying put.
Sharing the space is tough, but Tristan can ignore sweet Sean and his sunshiny smiles.
Kind of.
Except Sean's brother-in-law asks Tristan to keep an eye on Sean so he doesn't make any bad decisions.
Uh oh.
Keeping an eye on Sean is easy. Keeping his hands off him is much, much harder.
And sleeping together...well, that isn't a bad decision. Not when it feels so good.
Right?

Moving On by Felice Stevens was a wonderful lesson in love and forgiveness. Tristan, a retired police officer, struggled with the death of his partner, blaming himself. Additionally, his life growing up left scars which never fully healed.

Sean lost his apartment in a storm and temporarily moved in with his sister until she put him up in her and her husband’s city apartment. Little did she know, her husband also promised the apartment to Tristan since he returned to the United States and would be head of security of the bank he worked.

When Tristan and Sean met, minor fireworks exploded, and the men needed to figure out how to navigate around each other. I loved how Ms. Stevens worked through each man’s tumultuous childhood, each guarding themselves and then opening up. Tristan and Sean loved hard and fierce and eventually realized that the love they felt for each other would only make them stronger.

Ms. Stevens writes strong characters filled with convictions and resolve. I love reading her works and am never disappointed.

Moving On was not just moving on from the life Tristan and Sean had to find something better, it was also moving on and up in each other’s space to find love and family; moving on was always better than going back.

S.E.X. Review~ Just One Night by Felice Stevens

It isn’t every day a gorgeous stranger shows up in my bedroom wearing not much more than an arrogant smile. When I discover he’s a high-priced escort and a surprise birthday present from my sister…now she’s gone too far.

Except I haven’t been able to stop kissing him long enough to tell him to leave.
No one has to know he’s spent the night. And when we’re done, he’s gone and out the door. Never to be seen again.

Well, not exactly.
Because for some crazy reason, I can’t quite forget Archer Strong.

It’s a job like all the others. Another evening of million-dollar seduction and fake desire that’s made me the most exclusive escort in New York City.
But after one kiss from billionaire real-estate mogul Madden Steele, I’m not pretending anything.

And when he wants to see me a second time, I break my rule of one and done.
Because just one night with Madden isn’t enough. I want to see him again.
And again.

Now he’s asking for something more. Something that could solve all my problems, and his. But it’s something I can’t give him.
Or can I?

With an enemy from inside Madden’s family scheming to take control of his company and destroy me, we’re in for a fight. Holding on to each other might be the biggest risk of our lives, but it’s the only way to reap the greatest reward—love
.

Just One Night by Felice Stevens was everything I hoped it would be. Cranky and out of the game, Madden received a gift from his meddling sister that he never dreamed of, an escort name Archer. Workaholic, out of the game, and at odds with his aunt, Madden didn’t have time nor want to date- until he met Archer.

Striking a well-compensated agreement with the larger-than-life escort, the two men forge a sexual relationship which quickly turned to a personal one. The chemistry undeniably exists, but now what to do with it.

I loved Madden and Archer. Each man carried baggage and had to figure out how to not only reconcile it but work together to achieve their goals. They created moments of serenity in each other’s lives that led towards hope for all who sought to be loved and accepted.

As always, Ms Stevens drew me in from the first page and in one sitting I never let go. The book was beautiful and scorching all at the same time.

Just One Night turned into so much more- a projected lifetime of more one nights to come.

S.E.X. Review~ Where You Are by Felice Stevens

Former model and B-list actor (B meaning really bad) Isaac Seidel is now a NYC firefighter on special assignment in the one-horse town of Serenity, Pa. But all work and no play makes Isaac a dull boy, and when he hooks up with the most explosive one-night stand he’s ever had, it looks like country life might not be so boring after all.
Especially when the guy he thought he’d never see again turns out to be one of the volunteer firefighters he’s expected to train.
Levi Everett is a master at pleasing everyone—except himself. He’s spent his whole life hiding who he is and what he wants. It’s a lot more complicated now that he’s going to be seeing gorgeous Isaac Seidel every day. How is he supposed to pretend he’s straight when he and Isaac can’t keep their hands off each other?
Isaac has made it clear he’s only interested in friends with benefits, so when he returns home to NYC, Levi knows he’s gone forever.

Until he isn’t.

Trust doesn’t come easily to Isaac—he’s been hurt and used before. But Isaac is unable to forget the man he left behind, and in a shocking move, he makes Levi an offer that could change their lives forever. Now it’s up to Levi to put himself first, risking the love of his family, to go after his dreams—dreams that were unimaginable before Isaac but are now within his reach.

Because love is wherever Isaac is, and it’s the only place Levi wants to be.

Where You Are is a sweet and steamy, age-gap MM romance featuring two smoking hot firefighters who can't seem to keep their hands off each other or their clothes on whenever they're together. It's filled with found family, first time love, a swoony happily ever after, a well-meaning but nosy mother, and plenty of good old country fried chicken.

I really enjoyed Where You Are by Felice Stevens. Containing characters from Fall Guy and Influenced, all the books can be read as stand alone. Isaac, a New York firefighter was on special assignment in rural Pennsylvania where he had a one night stand. Enter Levi, volunteer firefighter, closeted gay man, and the man Isaac had his eyes on.

As always with a Felice Stevens book, emotions ran rampant, sex was in plenty, and all the rights feels were apparent with all involved. I liked Isaac for his openness and his love of family. Levi took a bit more for me to connect with, while at times I found him a bit whiny. Yes Levi lived in small town and in the closet but it was his constant lamenting over coming out and keeping his relationship a dark secret, that slightly turned me off. But, in the end everything worked out and even better than all hoped for.

I loved Isaac’s parents and Levi’s aunt and uncle. Their acceptance and love radiated at every encounter and enhanced the storyline.

Ms. Stevens never disappoints and Where You Are was just what the doctor ordered.

S.E.X. Review~ Unexpected by Felice Stevens

Party planner Colin Brightman doesn’t drink or dance, preferring to go to bed early with his spreadsheets and lists. All he wants is to forget the singles weekend his friends sent him on, but he’s stuck with a suitcase filled with condoms and skimpy Speedos that don’t belong to him.

He doesn’t expect his luggage thief to be ex-baseball superstar Walker “Walk-Off” Scanlon. Or that Walker has hired his firm to put on a charity event at his bar. Colin can’t deny the mixed emotions the annoyingly flirty man stirs in him, but he refuses to fall for someone who racks up lovers as easily as he once hit home runs.

No matter how much he might want to.

Walker Scanlon likes his men easygoing with no complications. He’s had enough of those in his life. So why is he drawn to tense and straitlaced Colin and his frosty scowl? Even his corny one-liners and jokes don’t get him a smile. But the sparks between them are undeniable. And that unexpected kiss? Amazin’.

Now if only Colin would stop running away. Good thing Walker is fast on his feet, because he has no intention of letting Colin go.

When Colin and Walker come face to face with past hurts and betrayals, they’ll need to trust themselves and each other to learn that heartbreak and love don’t go hand in hand. It’s the bottom of the ninth and if they swing for the stars, they just might hit the grand slam of a lifetime.

I am sure that I have stated this fact before, but Felice Stevens writes stories that draw the reader in, no matter what particular genre you fancy. Unexpected was just that type of book. The main characters may be gay men, but the storyline revolved around the men based on their nuances, who they were, not on their sexuality.

Colin was uptight and high strung. Walker was almost his polar opposite, but in smaller dosages. The fact the two men were different did not deter from the story but enhanced it. Together they made up the parts of the whole and once Colin allowed himself to really see a future it took off from there.

Walker was larger than life, with an exuberant personality. The once baseball player now owned an upscale bar and worked with many charities involving kids. As an owner in an event planning company Colin and Walker’s paths crossed, Colin handled an event for Walker.

I loved the dynamics between the two men. Ms. Stevens gave us sass and determination with Walker and reserved continuity in Colin. I chuckled, felt sad, yet never once did I not think they would get their HEA.

The secondary characters of business associates which were also best friends added to the camaraderie of the story and the unexpected turn of events leading to happy endings.

Unexpected was everything a reader would expect in a Felice Stevens book, and so much more.

S.E.X. Review~ Influenced by Felice Stevens

A MILLION LIKES vs. ONE TRUE LOVE

Bryce Bauman is one half of a famous influencer couple…until his boyfriend dumps him and puts the whole ugly scene online.
Several months later, Bryce is at the end of his rope—he’s lost all his endorsements, along with his so-called friends. Licking his wounds, he escapes to the tiny town of Serenity, Pennsylvania, where he’s surrounded by too much nature and quiet. And…the hot as hell owner of the bed-and-breakfast who makes him think there might be life beyond what’s on a screen.

Matty Wilcox has no time for spoiled brats or social media. He must keep the business running, his grumpy grandfather healthy, and himself deep in the closet. In his little town, there’s no way to come out to his friends and family and have things stay the same, so he’s better off alone.
Except life is complicated now that Bryce is staying at the bed and breakfast—he’s entirely too tempting and not as silly and shallow as Matty first thought. Giving in to his desire could only muddy the waters of the life he’s so carefully built. Any slipup would be dangerous for his business, his friendships, and most importantly, his heart. Besides, there’s no place for small-town Matty in Bryce’s big-city life. The two of them, together, don’t make sense.

Then again, since when does anything make sense when it comes to love—the greatest influencer of all?

Influenced by Felice Stevens was a great read, of which I expected nothing less. Additionally, the topic of social media and the influence it has on society was apropos, as this is always a hot button, especially with youth.

Bryce was part of an influential duo, his life in the spotlight, endorsing products and making a name for himself. Unfortunately, as we all know with trends, including people, the cancel culture can rear its ugly head very quickly. On a downward spiral after Bryce and his partner’s bad break up, Bryce sought solace, albeit unwillingly, in a small upstate Pennsylvania town.

Mattie ran a B & B on the family farm. Closeted, the man went through the motions of life, with baggage and lots of responsibility. Meeting Bryce was exactly what he needed.

Ms. Stevens delivered a lovely story of growth and perseverance. Both men needed to deal with their respective issues while finding themselves in who each really was and then together. I loved the dynamics between the two men. Bryce was bold and energetic. Mattie sweet and reserved. Together they complimented each other.

The secondary characters were awesome. Emma,  and especially Pop, stole the show.

I would love to see more of Serenity, PA and the great characters Ms. Stevens created.

Definite it’s S.E.X.

S.E.X. Review~ Fall Guy by Felice Stevens

I hired him to protect my body, but who will protect my heart?

He’s a thief, a convicted felon.
A cocky guy with tattoos and a smirk for days.
He needs a bodyguard and I need a job, so here we are.
And the more time I spend with Ronan Michaels, the more I realize maybe he isn’t the bad guy after all.
But why do I feel like he’s hiding something or protecting someone?
Or both?

My Angel Gabriel has a devil on his shoulder.
He’s not a sinner—but certainly no saint.
He’s been lied to and abandoned. Hurt by people who should love him no matter what.
Gabriel’s discovered my secrets, yet the more I push him away, the closer he stands by my side.
And when his past crumbles, leaving him searching for answers, I’m right there for him, holding his hand.
Holding him up.
Because love is catching someone when they fall.
And never letting go.

Fall Guy by Felice Stevens hit all the marks of a great read. Family drama, heartache, and love.

Ronan spent six years in federal prison for a crime he did not commit. Haunted by the death of his parents and the turn of events with his sister, Ronan hoped to get his life in order upon release. Gabriel had a great private security gig, and a one time lover who he though may have been the love of his life. A turn of events squashed the gig and the truth of his deceased lover led him straight towards Ronan’s path.

I adored both men- seasoned- sometimes hard, but always kind and considerate. A spoiled past does not make the man, but enhanced his good attributes, which was exactly what Ms. Steven did in this book. Each character was able to grow in their own skin, with each other, and come faced their pasts.

Fall Guy was beautifully written leaving this reader satisfied in all aspects. Ms. Stevens always takes you and transports a person into the story, felling every emotional upheaval and nuance, making you a part of the plot. MCs cry, the reader cries, they smile, you smile…..a testament to her ability to understand her audience.

Loved this book.

S.E.X. Review~ Death Tells a Tale by Felice Stevens as A.P. Eisen

Cliff Baxter is approached with a dream job, but it means time away from the man he loves and the family he’s only just reconciled with. When opportunity knocks twice and another unexpected offer comes his way, he and Paul make a decision neither dreamed possible, changing their lives forever.

Paul Monroe has everything he’s ever wanted—the man he loves, the respect of his coworkers…everything except the answer to his first murder investigation, the only case he’s never been able to solve.

Who killed Ginny Sweeten?

Follow along with Paul and his partner, Rob, as they wade through years-old evidence and piece together Thornwood Park’s most notorious cold case, leading to its startling and unexpected conclusion.

Death Tells a Tale by Felice Stevens writing as A.P.Eisen was the final chronicle in the Paul Monroe Mysteries. I could not wait to get my hands on this book, as I was enamored with the others in the series. Death Tells a Tale did not disappoint and Ms. Stevens’ world building came full circle in the mystery series.

Paul and Cliff were seasoned characters, which I appreciated. Sometimes reading about a twenty something can get old, but a seasoned man can be very energizing. The dynamics of Paul and Cliff got better through each book, culminating in a life well- deserved; I was sorry to see it end.

The infusion of the mystery which came full circle in the final book held my interest throughout each story and only got better under Ms. Stevens’ careful hand. Her uncanny ability to create large characters resonated with not only Paul and Cliff, but Rob, Paul’s work partner, and the other people in the book.

The series is best read in order as the blossoming relationship simmered from the start until the men found their way to each other.

This series ranks as one of my top five reads and in intrigue. To this reader, anyone can pick this series up and read it because the books were so much more than M/M characters- they were a mystery series whose main characters happen to be gay men.

A keeper!

S.E.X. Review~ The Gift of Forever by Felice Stevens

ACT ONE:

What do you get the man who has everything? Torre goes to the one person who knows Frisco best for help, but discovers the answer has been with him all along. But who's surprising who?
Two men, one question.

ACT TWO
One special night sets off a chain reaction that no one saw coming.

This has been expanded with over 9,000 additional words.

The Gift of Forever by Felice Stevens was a quick and sweet Christmas read. Characters Torre and Frisco have come along way and are about to embark on the next step in their lives. Ms. Stevens gave us a fresh read with a definite HEA.

Cameos from the men of the Breakfast Club and Second Chances series added to the overall appeal of the Christmas spirit.

The surprise ending regarding Zach and Sam was a nice touch- no spoilers, but you will love it!

I smiled throughout the read!

S.E.X. Review~ Night Prince by Felice Stevens

A vampire who’s lost everything meets a man who has nothing to lose.

For centuries, Massimo D’Alba, banished prince of the Fold, has wandered through life frozen in darkness and pain. Betrayed by his younger, power-hungry brother, he’s existed for centuries but not lived. A rain-soaked night brings smart-mouthed New Yorker, Damion Avery, to his doorstep and suddenly he’s riding spin bikes, shopping for yoga pants, eating ice cream…and falling in love.

Damion Avery can’t figure out why Prince Tall, Dark, and Incredibly Sexy wants him as his personal assistant, but he’s not going to second-guess his good luck. Even though he has to work all night and sleep during the day, the job is too good to be true. But where does Massimo sneak off to in the dead of night? Is he a spy, an assassin, or something else? And what’s with those glowing purple eyes? Damion knows he shouldn’t fall for his boss. But Damion was never one to follow the rules.

When duty calls him home, Massimo must return to save his kingdom, forcing a life-changing decision: leave Damion behind forever, or reveal his deepest, darkest secret to the man who has become his everything, who owns a part of Massimo he’d thought gone forever…his heart.

Night Prince by Felice Stevens was a wonderful mixture of companionship, survival, and intrigue. Born vampire Massimo was exiled from the Fold centuries before meeting human Damion. The crowned prince was usurped by his lecherous brother and tossed aside by his father the king after a transgression they viewed as harmful to the vampire world.

Centuries after his life turned upside down Massimo met a down on his luck human, gave him room and board and a job. Little did he know Damion would be his perfect match and future consort.

The book was fast paced and kept me interested and intrigued. Ms. Stevens wove a tale that was easy to follow, but not simplistic. The characters were well written and came to life throughout the pages. Their emotions, concerns, and dynamics carried throughout giving substance to the storyline. The insertion of spirituality was a plus as it added to the overall cause of the book, enhancing the world building.

Each secondary character was well placed, only adding to the beautiful story Ms. Stevens created and demonstrating her uncanny ability to take a concept, run with it, and deliver a stroke of genius.

Night Prince was all the best parts of romance and paranormal.

S.E.X. Review~ Footsteps of the Past by Felice Stevens

It was like in the movies: their eyes met from across the room and they fell in love.

Nine years later, Chess and André are the envy of all their friends.
But this is real life….and things are never what they seem.

Still waters run deep—the better to hide Chess’s ugly past. He’s worked hard to bury the troubled teen he once was and is living a life he never imagined possible. AndrĂ©’s love is a gift that makes him believe in second chances, and Chess is grateful for it every day. The only thing he wants is what AndrĂ© finds impossible to give: his time. Six months apart might be the breaking point, even for Chess.

One horrible night changed AndrĂ©’s life forever. Formerly a party boy of the Hamptons social scene, AndrĂ© buries himself in work for years until he meets Chess and learns to enjoy the simple things. He’s tired of being away from home all the time and ready to step down from his role as CEO of the family business, no matter how they try and pull him back in. But old habits die hard…and so do memories.

Photos from the past and present surface, shocking Chess and AndrĂ© out of their carefully constructed dream life. They are forced to face the unthinkable: the love they thought would last a lifetime may be on the brink of falling apart. Secrets are exposed, opening a Pandora’s box both men hoped would stay locked forever. Now Chess and AndrĂ© face the hardest question: do you ever really know the person you’re living with?

Footsteps of the Past was a beautifully written book by author Felice Stevens. Chess and Andre were already a couple in book 1, The List, of the Second Chances series, and I looked forward to their story. While the book is a standalone, I recommend reading The List first as the college friends’ lives were intertwined.

Each man in Footsteps of the Past had their own secrets, of which potentially could destroy their relationship. Ms. Stevens did not take their issues lightly and allowed the characters to grow as their story unfolded. At times, I may have found a bit of whininess, but that may have been more my perception and not the reality. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, but for me there was something missing (although I can not put my finger on it). I loved the banter between the friend group and how they accepted new loves in their circle. I especially can not wait for Wolf and Spencer’s story.

As a fan of Ms. Stevens, I look forward to everything she writes.

S.E.X. Review~ The List by Felice Stevens

Oops. He did it again.
Elliot Hansen has a terrible habit of falling in love with every man he dates.
His friends have had enough and make a list of Elliot’s perfect man.
That V …
Those abs ...
Shouldn’t a boyfriend be more than the sum of his parts?
But when sexy detective Winston Rogers bursts into his bedroom to arrest a burglar, Elliot knows he wouldn’t mind checking one or two things off that list with him.

What if you had it all?
Five years after the death of his husband, Winston Rogers is single and determined to stay that way.
He throws himself into his job—the more dangerous the assignment, the better.
He can’t face another risk to his heart.
But then a routine arrest in his neighbor’s bedroom leaves Win searching for more than evidence as the man’s sweet smile and vulnerable eyes strike a chord inside him Win had thought gone forever.

Why not enjoy each other with no strings attached? Win and Elliot decide to make their own list.
Rule #1: Strictly friends with benefits.
Rule #2: No doing anything stupid like falling in love.
Rule #3. ...
See Elliot and Win ignore Rules #1 and #2.

Felice Stevens reduced this reader to tears with her new book, The List. Sometimes sad, sometimes funny, The List left an emotional impact- a story of love lost, friendship, and love found.

Win and Elliot each had their own personal issues. Win, closed off from any future of love as he lived in the past with his husband’s death, with no thought of a prospect of companionship and love.

Elliot only wanted to be loved. Plagued by a past based on an unattainable goal, Elliot created his own family with his three best friends and jumped at the love-ever-after relationship soon after meeting a new man. For both men, a no-win situation dictated their lives, until a break in/attempted robbery brought Detective Win smack dab into Elliot’s bedroom.

I loved both characters and instantly felt the emotional turmoil they both retained. Ms. Stevens brought their characterization forward as she allowed them to write their own stories. The book was not forced, but real life, where not everything goes as planned and the HEA needed to be worked for.

As the men waded through their budding relationship, they learned so much about each other, but more importantly, they learned about themselves. Win realized that love could be found again, and Elliot found the will to face truths that plagued him all his life.

The secondary characters enhanced the overall story, and I cannot wait to see where Ms. Stevens takes them in future books.

A must read. The list may start out as a joke, but The List was the real deal.

S.E.X. Review~ The Right One by Felice Stevens

Title: The Right One
Author: Felice Stevens
Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 14, 2021
Cover Design: Reese Dante

"Wrong never felt so right."

Morgan Cantrell is a survivor. After running away from an abusive husband, he’s finally divorced and starting over, but it’s hard. Of course he doesn’t mean to set off the smoke detectors in the building or short out the electricity in his apartment. Mistakes happen. The last thing he wants is to draw the attention of his growly, moody-ass super. Every time they meet, it’s like oil and water—they just don’t mix.

Leo DeLuca learned at an early age that the people who are supposed to love you only hurt you. He’s happy to keep to himself, but the walking disaster of a new tenant in 5C won’t stop getting in his way and into his business. They can’t even speak to each other without arguing, but Leo has to admit—it’s kind of a turn on. That must be the reason why he can’t stop thinking about the guy in 5C. Or wanting to touch him. But hell, no. That would be a mistake.

One kiss leads to an explosive night both men fight to forget—after all, Leo has nothing in common with the sweet kindergarten teacher while Morgan is looking for a happily ever after he knows Leo can’t give. Yet it’s Morgan who Leo leans on to help deal with his painful past, and Leo is the key to unlocking Morgan’s inner strength.

Trusting someone is never easy, but it might be the only way they discover that everything they think is wrong about each other, could be everything that's right.

‘Yet again Felice has given is a story full of love, emotion, heartache and so much more.’ ~ booklover (Goodreads review)
‘The feelings and emotions just poured off the pages and I felt everything!! Explosive chemistry!! Seriously loved every moment about this story!!’ ~ Janet (Goodreads review)

Leo had recognized the shadows in Cantrell’s eyes. He saw that pain and loss in the mirror every day, and every day he ignored it. If Leo were to hazard a guess, it must have something to do with his failed marriage. No one went from luxury to low-cost without a damn good reason.

“Well, Mr. Nosy Ass, you still have to eat.” He gathered up the items, put them in a bag, and left his apartment.

Trudging up to the fifth floor, he figured Cantrell would’ve had enough time to cool off and they could calmly discuss the reasons why he should leave the management of the building to the people who knew what they were doing.

He knocked on the door, and he waited impatiently as Cantrell unbolted the three separate locks he’d had installed. After all that, Cantrell still only opened the door as far as the security chain would allow, but even in those few inches, Leo could see the consternation filling Cantrell’s wide green eyes.

“What do you want? Did you come here to keep yelling at me? I already said I was sorry.”

“Actually, you didn’t.”

“I’m pretty sure I did. And even if I didn’t, you had no right to call me names.”

Cantrell’s stubbornness began to grate on Leo’s nerves. That was why he didn’t waste time with people. Inevitably, they pissed him off, like this guy.

“I call them as I see them. And are you going to stand there and say to my face you were right in fumbling around with the electrical system of this entire building that I’m responsible for?”

“If you came to berate me, I’m going to close the door. I have better things to do than listen to you.” True to his snooty words, he started to close the door, but Leo quickly stuck his foot in the narrow opening.

“I thought we could have an intelligent discussion, but obviously, that’s not happening. So here.” He held up the grocery bag. “I got the stuff you left behind when you ran away from me in the supermarket. I knocked on your door yesterday, but when no one answered, I didn’t want to leave it and have the meat spoil. You’re welcome.”

Without waiting for Cantrell’s reply, he set the grocery bag on the floor and turned on his heel. At the top of the stairs he heard a door slam shut, then open, and Cantrell call out.

“Wait. Please?”

Leo closed his eyes. He really should walk away and leave that mouthy little fucker alone. “What is it?”

“Th-that was nice of you. You didn’t have to do it.”

“I know.” Leo crossed his arms and waited.

“Thank you. And…” Cantrell bit his lip. “I’m sorry. I-I guess I shouldn’t have tried to fix the problem myself. You’re right.”

The guy was pretty damn cute.

Oh hell no. Don’t even go there.

Felice Stevens has always been a romantic at heart. She believes that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending just around the corner. Her characters have to work for it, however. Like life in NYC, nothing comes easy, and that includes love.
She lives in New York City and has way too much black in her wardrobe yet can't stop buying "just one more pair" of black pants. Felice is a happily addicted Bravo and Say Yes to the Dress addict and proud of it. And let's not get started on House Hunters. Her dream day starts out with iced coffee and ends with Prosecco, because...why shouldn't it? You can find her procrastinating on FB in her reader group, Felice's Breakfast Club.

The Right One by Felice Stevens was swoon worthy and powerful. Ms. Stevens created a synergy of emotional upheaval and the need for healing, forgiveness, and love.

As an abused partner, Morgan took matters into his own hands, and left with the clothes on his back to start a new life sans Jeffery. Enter Leo DeLuca, the sup of the apartment building Morgan moved into. Gruff, hiding behind a suit of armor, Leo was a man who harbored demons yet somewhere in his soul a good man resided.

Morgan and Leo were attracted to each other albeit in an unconventional way- klutzy accidents, ranting landlords- just added to the mix.

I loved that Ms. Stevens didn’t necessarily give us an opposites attract story, but rather a story of two men on the path of awareness that simply came from different parts. Together. Leo and Morgan embarked on a journey to not only discover themselves as strong individuals, but also on a journey which led to a relationship based on mutual respect and desire- something neither man previously experienced.

The Right One was an emotional roller coaster, but what would one expect from such a prolific writer as Felice Stevens. Morgan and Leo will tug at anyone’s heartstrings-

Definite S.E.X.
