S.E.X. Review~ Figuring it Out Together by Jamie Lynn Miller

First introduced in Christmas Together (Partners: Book 2), Reese Danby and Jordan Rothchild now take center stage in their own story!

One man vows to never love again. The other pledges to win his heart.

British Intelligence agent Reese Danby is a man adrift. After losing his longtime partner, Reese finds himself missing that deep connection, that unwavering bond, of someone always by his side.

Enter his newly assigned partner, rookie agent Jordan Rothchild. Jordan is everything Reese could want in a partner…and so much more.

There’s no denying the spark Reese feels the moment he lays eyes on Jordan. A spark which Reese ruthlessly quashes. For not only is Reese's true sexuality a closely guarded secret, but a devastating personal loss has left him emotionally wounded, unable to surrender his heart to another man. But then an unexpected encounter reveals he and Jordan share the same hidden truth…and mutual attraction.

Under Jordan’s gentle, encouraging affection, Reese’s walls slowly crumble, and he dares risk falling in love again. One beautiful night spent together changes everything between them, but in the next breath will also break both their hearts.

As past pain collides with present danger, Reese navigates treacherous terrain, both professionally and emotionally, finally realizing his terrible mistake of pushing Jordan away.

But is it too late for a second chance? Or has Reese’s fear cost him love and happiness?

Figuring It Out Together is a slow burn, second chance gay romance with a HEA, featuring special appearances by Liam Bancroft and Colin Mason from Books 1 and 2.

As closed off was Reese, was as open was Jordan. Loving this series, Reese and Jordan added to the appeal of the world building Ms. Miller created in the world of 1970's British intelligence. Figuring it Out Together gave this reader all the feels as I was captivated by both men and what they brought to the table. Ms. Miller continued to develop the story with a slow burn romance only enhanced by action and witty friends. Add in Jordan's mother and the story was complete.

I appreciated that although homosexuality had recently been legalized in Britain, Ms. Miller did not jump in with both feet first, which in my opinion would have created an air of unbelievability. Instead the author allowed the caution to flourish until the men realized together was better.

Another winner by a prolific writer.

S.E.X Review~ Christmas Together by Jamie Lynn Miller

Snowflakes and spies and mistletoe, oh my!

It’s been five months since British Intelligence agents Liam Bancroft and Colin Mason found the courage to weather the emotional storm of painful, long-buried secrets and confess their love for one another.

As their first Christmas together approaches, they want nothing more than to return to the idyllic English countryside and the cottage that has come to mean so much to them.

But the road there is fraught with obstacles. They must navigate the aftermath of finally revealing their relationship to family and the intelligence service, and an undercover operation that puts Liam’s life in jeopardy.

Will it take a Christmas miracle to bring Colin and Liam together for the holiday?

(This novel is a sequel to Stronger Together, but can be read as a standalone holiday book)

I had forgotten how much I loved Jamie Lynn Miller’s characters, Liam and Colin, until I read her latest book, Christmas Together. Set in the 1970’s, the author pinpointed the verbiage, the dress, and the mannerisms of the time- I felt like I was in the 70/80s.

The two British intelligence agents loved hard, but in secret. Finally deciding to come out, the men faced good and bad vibes from those around them, and through it all stuck together.

I adored their synergy. Their ease of making each other feel special was palpable through Ms Miller’s hand.

Even though the book can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading book 1 as well. You will get a real sense of the love and sweet demeanor the men have toward each other.

S.E.X. Review~ Memory's Prisoner by Jamie Lynn Miller

Detectives Mitchell Reid and Joseph Valentino of the Chicago Police Department have finally moved from friends to lovers, partners on the job and off. Then an escaped bank robber with a thirst for vengeance shatters their world. The police tactical raid to recapture the convict goes horribly wrong, leaving Mitch severely wounded and Joey with a devastating head injury. They both survive, but Joey’s long-term coma and memory loss will change their lives – and love – forever.

I enjoyed Memory’s Prisoner by Jamie Lynn Miller and the dynamics between Mitch and Joey. Both men severely hurt in the line of duty, they must learn to overcome obstacles both professionally and personally.

Angst-filled but not overly dramatic, Ms. Miller kept the storyline flowing and engaging. Although the men were only six years apart in age, at times I felt Joey to be immature and Mitch beyond his years. Overall, though, the two worked well together and came full circle as the story unfolded.

The author created a synergy and realism with the police drama and added secondary characters that enhanced the tale. I also appreciated that the story was more about the aftermath of a tragedy and not necessarily drawn out.

A good story overall.

Buy "Love and Poison" today and let the countdown begin!

Love and Poison by Jamie Lynn Miller was sexy and fast-paced. I immediately fell for Bryce and Caleb, two vice cops- partners on the job and now in life.

When life took a different turn of events, the two men must make hard choices, again in work and life.

Love and Poison delivered sexy characters and much sex appeal. Both men were true lovers and cherished each other and the time they had together. Ms. Miller gave strong men compassion and gentleness that radiated throughout the story. I adored both characters and their synergy.

A fun-filled camping trip was just the tip of the sexy time Bryce and Caleb had, filling the pages of my e-reader with pure enjoyment.

S.E.X. Review~ Dying Soldier by Jamie Lynn Miller

Serving with the elite anti-terrorism task force known as Shadow Unit, Sergeants Connor Finley and Shawn Weller have faced arms dealers, drug lords, terrorists, rogue CIA agents and biological weapons. But with the unconditional support of their team, and more importantly, their love for one another, they possess the strength to survive any challenge.

But how do you fight an enemy you can’t see? When a mission in Sierra Leone takes an unexpected turn, Connor and Shawn find themselves under quarantine and in isolation, their lives hanging in the balance between life and death. This time, their team is on the outside, looking in. Have Connor and Shawn finally found themselves in a battle they cannot win?

Jamie Lynn Miller has done it again, with a wonderful addition to her Shadow Unit series, Dying Soldier. Elite soldiers, Connor and Shawn have not always had it easy. They’ve battled their feelings for each other, coming out better in the end and hopelessly in love, battled dark enemies, and now must battle against their biggest challenge~ a virus that spares no one.

Ms. Miller took two very different men and united them professionally and personally. Reckless, ambitious, wild, and oh so hot, Connor and Shawn are the epitome of macho men with tender hearts. Just because they are part of a clandestine unit who saves the world from bad guys, doesn’t mean they can’t find happiness for themselves.

Ms. Miller’s style of writing is very matter of fact with interwoven snippets of drama and foresight, thus always making me want for more. The world building over the series captivated my attention and made me feel a part of the characters lives. Additionally, the supporting cast added subtle nuances have a familial feel that only enhanced the storyline. Call me a sucker for a good story with an ounce of drama and a whole lot of love, and that’s the book for me. Dying Soldier, as the rest of the Shadow Unit series delivered on all accounts.

Connor and Shawn are the epitome of sex appeal, in and out of the uniform, all the while never realizing their true worth except to each other and those they love. Never braggards, just men doing a job to make life better for others, sometimes at their own expense, Connor and Shawn sored to new heights in Dying Soldier.

To enjoy the full impact of the story, I would recommend reading the series from the beginning. All books are well-worth the read, enjoyable and stimulating. Ms. Miller knows how to strike a balance between real life and entertainment, thus giving readers a very realistic view of life and love following the lives of Shadow Unit and Connor and Shawn.

S.E.X. Review~ Snowbound Soldiers by Jamie Lynn Miller

With memories of the past coloring their present, Sergeants Connor Finley and Shawn Weller use an unexpected 24 hours together in an isolated cabin on Christmas to help one another make peace with their ghosts and look toward the future together.
(Set between Broken Soldier and Rogue Soldier but can be read as a standalone)

Short read Snowbound Soldiers by Jamie Lynn Miller was sweet and sexy. Set in between book one and two of Shadow Hunt series, Connor and Shawn indulged in 24-hours of alone time in a secluded cabin.

If you've read Broken Soldier, SH 1, you fully know the torment and tribulations Connor and Shawn have experienced. Snowbound took two damaged men and gave them one joyous day where their only focus was each other and not the horrors of corruption and war.

Ms. Miller delivered sensuality as two beautiful souls found a bit of respite.

S.E.X. Review~ Hunted Soldier by Jamie Lynn Miller

In the wake of the harrowing missions in India and Pakistan, Connor struggles to come to terms with causing the accidental death of a child, while Shawn tries to put Julian’s betrayal behind him.
Adding to the emotional fallout, new trials arise – the appearance of a young man from Connor’s past turned stalker may have fatal consequences for him, while Shawn must confront his former heroin addiction and break free of the hold it still has on him.
The challenges continue when a Shadow Unit undercover op in Bangladesh to shut down the pipeline of terrorists being smuggled into the UK draws Shawn and Connor into a web of lies and deceit from a man hell bent on exacting revenge on the two soldiers – demanding a life for a life.
Will Connor and Shawn survive? Or will the jungle become their final resting place?

Shadow Unit series by Jamie Lynn Miller has fast become one of this readers’ favorite series and Hunted Soldier sealed the deal.

Shawn and Connor, back in the spotlight, a new and daring adventure, making each page more adventurous than the previous.

Ms. Miller catapulted us into the jungles of Bangladesh as Shawn and Connor fought for their lives- attempting to stay one step ahead of the enemy. The twists and turns had me sitting on the edge of my seat while the sex scenes made me swooning, smiling with a satisfied grin.

Shawn and Connor's relationship was a slow sizzle at times and a burning brush fire at others. The authors ability to traverse emotional upheaval and sensuous love was well written and well developed- permitting the characters to guide her careful words and heady scenes.

Sexy men and captivating characters- Hunted Soldier was a must read.

Blurb

Shadow Unit may have overturned the illegal arms cartel in Kuala Lumpur, but the harrowing undercover op left emotional scars on Sergeants Shawn Weller and Connor Finley. Slowly, patiently, they piece their partnership back together, closer now than ever before.

But the arrival of Julian Montgomery, Shawn’s former CIA handler and lover, threatens to tear them apart. Julian knows all of Shawn's secrets as well as the past Shawn has kept hidden from Connor. Now the self-serving Julian wants Shawn back—with the CIA and with him. No one will get in his way. Including Connor.

When the joint Shadow Unit/CIA mission to stop the supplier of a deadly biological weapon goes sideways, Connor is captured, tortured, and used as a human test subject. It’s a race against time to save his life. But who can Shawn trust?

And who has gone rogue?

New favorites Shawn and Connor were back in Jamie Lynn MillersRogue Soldier. This book contained everything I looked for in an intriguing military story.

Emotionally spent from their previous mission, Shawn and Connor were catapulted back into the world of shadows, and must come to terms with enemies close and afar.

Both Shawn and Connor were likeable characters with baggage, but with the fortitude to go forward, professionally and personally. Their love and admiration emanated through Ms. Millers’ writing style keeping me captivated throughout the book.

An HEA with the potential for more I look forward to the next installment of Shadow Unit.

Author Bio

Jamie Lynn Miller has been writing fiction since childhood and decided to take the plunge and go pro in 2008, finding to her amazement that people truly enjoyed her love stories. She’s a romantic at heart, and her tales reflect the desire we all have to find “the one,” persevering through trials and heartache for that happy ending.

Jamie has a degree in fine arts and has spent the last twenty years working as a graphic designer, though she’d much rather be writing. She was born in Chicago and still lives there today with her husband and their two furry, four-footed children, er… cats.

If she’s not brainstorming story ideas, you can find Jamie at a sci-fi convention, in front of a furnace doing glass blowing, or on a mat twisted into a yoga pose.

S.E.X. Review~ Broken Soldier by Jamie Lynn Miller

Sergeant Connor Finley and Sergeant Shawn Weller are dedicated soldiers working covert ops for Shadow Unit — a joint UK/US anti-terrorism task force.
Partners in the field and out, they had been through hell together for the last four years and made it through standing side by side. But when their latest undercover op to bring down an arms dealer plunges them into a world of drugs, sex and violence, Shawn must literally get in bed with the enemy in order to complete the mission. And Connor is forced to watch, helpless, as his partner is broken into pieces.
Will love be enough to put them both back together or will this be their final mission
WARNING: Contains scenes of drug use, graphic sex and realistic situations

Broken Soldier by Jamie Lynn Miller was a wonderful mix of military know-how, intrigue, and sexy characters. Shawn and Connor were part of an elite group known as Shadow Unit.

Sent to infiltrate the nefarious Jae on Kuala Lumpur, the men found themselves on the wrong side of the tracks and fitting for survival.

The relationship between the men was well-developed as Ms. Miller traversed the ins and outs of the seedy underbelly of sex, drugs, and violence. Additionally, the author delivered a carefully crafted tale of an undercover operative who must become totally immersed~ regardless of consequences.

The dynamics between Connor and Shawn tugged at my heart and left me cheering for them and the wrongs that must be made right. Connor’s pleasant, yet stoic disposition permitted Shawn to combat the evils of his mission while carving his own notch in the team and Shawn’s life. Together, Ms. Miller created a dynamic duo~ brains, strength, and pure sex.

I look forward to reading book two in the series and further delving into the lives of Connor and Shawn.
