S.E.X. Review~ Sand Trap by L.M. Somerton

Exposing secrets can be lethal.

Crow has had his eye on baby-faced Shelton since the young man became part of the Wyverns, but Crow is a committed Dom and unsure that Shelton is ready, or willing, to become his submissive. Getting trapped together during a dust storm provides an opportunity to find out.

When the dust settles, the winds have scoured the desert and uncovered a shallow grave full of bodies. Smuggling people across the border is big business and Crow knows that the traffickers will not want their gruesome secret revealed to the authorities.

When Shelton is taken and used as collateral, Crow and the Wyverns have to decide just how far they are prepared to go to serve justice and save Shelton’s life.

Each book in L.M. Somerton’s The Wyverns series brings more intrigue and delicious characters. Crow and Shelton scream sex appeal sans being overly overt in Sand Trap.

The author delivered drama in a quick span that held my interest, although I would have liked more sexy time between Crow and Shelton, what was there was worth the read. Crow and Shelton, as with most of the men in the series towed the fine line between law-abiding and not, yet their reasoning for a crossover was never without thought and merit for a greater good.

Crow was sexy and brooding, Shelton was demure with spirit. Combined, the two men were perfect for each other and complimentary.

As always, many of the characters from previous books were an integral part of the story, entwined in each other’s live.

Sand Trap, and the rest of the books were worth the read.

S.E.X. Review~ Aces and Eights by Rain Carrington

Kale Acer was antsy. As much as he loved his family and their farm, he craved something else, something wild. Into his life rides Eight on the back of a Harley. Scared to death, but drawn to the tall, mean biker, Kale faces the needs within himself that he didn’t know were there. 
Guillermo Cardenas had stopped believing in anything but his club and his lifestyle years before, but when he meets the innocent and strong Kale Acer, things that were long since buried resurfaced. 
Theirs was not a conventional romance. Eight was not the sweet, caring boyfriend that Kale imagined he’d one day meet, but the connection and passion they held for each other was something they couldn’t seem to let go. 
Problems within his club make his being with Kale dangerous, so Eight leaves. Kale is heartbroken, but determined to find him. When that doesn’t seem possible, he moves on, at least he thought. Somehow, Eight refused to leave his heart. 
Aces and Eights brings you the beginning of a new series, centering on the world of bikers, danger and a different kind of love. Welcome back old friends, and embrace the new brothers. Ride with Kale and Eight through the stormy road of their lives and their love. 

Aces and Eights by Rain Carrington was raw and raunchy as she transported us into the uncivilized world of motorcycle gangs. Eight fell hard for farm boy Kale, but needed to protect him from the unsavory people he associated with. In doing so, he nearly sealed the fate of their fledging relationship.

Aces and Eights was not wine and roses, not even in the delivered language. Foul-mouthed, and sometimes unkind, Ms. Carrington held nothing back while portraying the main characters of the book. Sometimes they were downright nasty and disrespectful to each other, but the author made it work and kept me interested.

If you looking for and HEA, then you’ll have to wait for the next book and the story of Kale and Eight to continue. The man may be out of the seedy underbelly of illegal MC, but apparently it’s going to follow him.

Aces and Eights was worth the read and Rain Carrington delivered a winner.

S.E.X. Review~ Clear Blue Sky by Jenna Byrnes

Sky Warren doesn’t let the screen door smack him on the 

way out of Kansas. When his former abusive partner, Duke, 

is arrested for selling drugs, Sky takes off. He’s ready for a

 clean start and a change of scenery. 

Moving to Lakewood, Colorado with his cousin and accepting 

a job in Billy’s bike shop seems like just what he needs 

to start over. In Billy’s riding club he meets Task Rivers,

 a handsome, sexy biker and they hit it off immediately. 

Task is edgy, yet he shows Sky how a respectful 

and considerate man treats his partner. 

The two fall into a lusty, passionate relationship.

Death before dishonour. The Demon Outlaws have another way of looking at life. 

When Duke Lessing comes after Sky and is rebuffed, he joins the 

Outlaws in their troublemaking ways. With the Demons spoiling for a fight, 

Task calls on a few of the more hardcore Rebel Riders. As the night heats up, 

Sky is determined to avoid what seems like inevitable bloodshed. He wants to 

leave and lure the Demons away, but Task and the Rebel Riders have other ideas. 

Sky knows Duke doesn’t give up easily and learns that neither does Task, 

who’s fighting for what he wants. But will it be a fight to the death?

Clear Blue Sky by Jenna Byrnes blended biker badness with protective love. Sky Warren was hiding from his former lover, a MC member who abused him. Staying with his cousin Billy, Sky joined a new MC where he met Task. Muscle-bound, take no prisoners biker, Task immediately fell for the man with a tortuous past.

Although Clear Blue Sky told of nefarious characters with attitudes a mile long, Ms. Byrnes also wrote of an underlying love for family and partnership. Looking out for each other took on a whole new meaning when the person’s in charge were members of a biker gang.

Sky was a vulnerable soul, yet I never found him weak or lacking. He wore his heart on his sleeve but unfortunately became entangled in a cycle of abuse which he had a hard time leaving. Once he did, Ms. Byrnes wrote of his strength of character and resilience.

The secondary characters were enigmatic and I would love to see more books based on them.

Clear Blue Sky delivered steam and danger, a lovely combination.

Hard Riders Anthology was a mix of bad boy characterization with sexy intrigue. Morticia Knight, Jenna Byrnes and L.M. Somerton delivered action-packed stories of biker mayhem.

Each story portrayed the seedy underbelly of motorcycle clubs~ no sugar-coating here. Rugged bikers with tattoos, who gunned, punched, or knifed their way through adversity or to the top of the food chain. Yet, these down and dirty bad boys had a soft persona of love and care. Love for their MC families and love for their mates.

Men with scarred pasts who lifted themselves up and strove to make a better lives.

If you are a fan of motorcycle club drama and hot M/M couples, then Hard Riders is well worth the time to read.
