A sexy stripper attempts to escape his dangerously obsessed boss while searching for his missing younger brother.

Stripping used to be fun, lucrative and a place for Dakota to practice for his professional dancing career. But the owner of Glitter Boys wants Dakota for himself and will stop at nothing to possess him. When his thirteen-year-old brother runs away from home to escape their abusive father, Dakota is determined to find him before something awful happens to him on the streets.

Patrol officer Reed hasn’t been attracted to a man in a very long time, but when he’s called to an assault in progress at the LGBTQ teen shelter, a young man approaches him, begging for help in finding his missing brother. An instant spark occurs, but he pushes it away. When the same man is attacked outside a strip club later that night, he discovers the desire is mutual.

As the two men learn more about each other and become closer, the specter of his obsessed ex-boss remains. In addition to that, Dakota has to fight the system to gain guardianship of his brother and keep him out of foster care. Dakota doesn’t know if the hunky cop he’s fallen so hard for can handle a relationship with an ex-stripper struggling to raise a teenager. But, will Reed be able to give up dating women for good and dedicate himself to their new family?

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of sexual intimidation, scenes of mild physical assault and threats of sexual violence.

Book 7 in the Sin City Uniform series by Morticia Knight was a nice addition to the series and can be read as a standalone.

Reed and Dakota found friendship and chemistry under the sin city lights in Strip Search. Ms. Knight delivered a sweet tale tinged with a bit of angst as stripper Dakota attempted to flee his over-bearing and nefarious boss, all the while attempting to find his run away brother. Dakota was sassy and a spitfire as the events of his life unraveled at his feet.

Ms. Knight added the element of bisexuality to Strip Search in Reed’s character. (A once married man) - a police officer with a teenage daughter, Reed internally questioned his sexuality - attracted to both men and women. In Dakota, Reed encountered friendship, love, and relationship.

Reed’s explanation of his attraction to both sexes was well-written, but I felt a bit rushed~ almost as an afterthought that needed to be written into the story to appease readers. Having said that, I always enjoy a Morticia Knight book and Strip Search did not disappoint.

Reed’s sexual exploration, Dakota’s gentle hand and sweet secondary characters in Donny and Keli, all added to the books appeal.

Teen shelter volunteer Rich searches for love until Diego, from LVMPD Search and Rescue, finds him.

After declaring his love life officially dead, Rich wonders if maybe he should stick with his shifter book boyfriends instead. It’s not as if he has much free time to date anyway. Between working long hours at a coffee shop, guarding his sodas from his hygienically challenged roommates, and running the programming at the Vegas LGBTQ teen shelter he founded—how could there ever be space for love in his life?

Diego Espinoza enjoys taking his downtime from working Search and Rescue at the Lucky Cup coffee shop. He can set up his laptop, peruse good sport climbing spots and observe the blond barista he’s been pining over for a while. He imagines that the pretty boy has more offers than he knows what to do with, so it takes Diego time to work up the nerve to approach him.

Rich isn’t so sure about the rough-looking Diego—even if he’s always thought he was hot—but once he decides to gives Diego a chance, there’s an immediate heat and connection that takes him by surprise. As they learn more about each other and try to find the way to a future together, strange and scary things start to happen.

It isn’t until Rich is injured in a bizarre accident that it becomes clear that there’s someone out there who not only doesn’t want Rich to find love—they want him dead.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of light bondage.

Morticia Knight created a feeling of swooning as I read Searching for Shelter, Sin City Uniforms #6. I adored Rich and Diego and Ms. Knight’s characterization enhanced my connection with the two men.

Rich worked at a local coffee shop and volunteered at the LGBT teen center. Diego worked for Search and Rescue~ risking life and limb to protect those that braved the rugged mountain range in the Las Vegas area.

Ms., Knight delivered a sweet synergy between Rich and Diego which captivated my attention and intrigued me. She provided a simmering relationship that when ignited left me breathless and yearning for more. Two sexy characters~ steamy read.

I love a man in uniform and Diego hit all the right buttons. Add in a bit of mystery and Searching for Shelter was another hit by Morticia Knight.

Just when I thought I couldn’t love Morticia Knight’s Sin City Uniforms series anymore, she goes and creates Negotiating Love, (book 5 in the series). Steve and Allistair rocked my world and each other’s.

We were previously introduced to Steve in Held Hostage as the SWAT negotiator and friends with benefits, friend to Cole. In Held Hostage, Steve’s attitude appeared aloof and distant, but in Negotiating Love, Steve was charismatic and electric.

Reclusive Allistair and out-going Steve were the perfect match, the yin to the other’s yang, and the washer to the screw in kink. Allistair and Steve complimented each other with carefulness and tenderness, accepting their pressures and their desires.

Ms. Knight’s subtle nuances and revelations of the men’s personalities added an air of mystery to the story, as bit by bit, Ms. Knight divulged what made each man tick~ the guardedness of Allistair and the sexual secrets of Steve.

The chemistry was hot, the dialogue spicy and the emotional upheaval raw~ everything I look for in a book.  

I appreciated the author’s ability to keep in check with characters from the previous books, never straying from the timeline, while synchronizing the stories. Negotiating Love has moved to the top of my ‘favorite list’ in the Sin City Uniform series.

Held Hostage by Morticia Knight was so much more than a tale about a SWAT member, his team and the man he’d fall in love with. Ms. Knight delivered a tale of personal demons which internally hold a person hostage and unable to form lasting loving relationships. Of all the Sin City Uniforms books, Held Hostage conveyed a bit of darkness and sadness that the other books did not have. 

Cole was a complicated man. Determined to adhere to his strategic life plan, all which goes by the wayside when he meets Brett, newly transplanted to the Las Vegas area. Both men carry baggage, making it difficult to open to something more.

Cole especially was closed off and slightly self-absorbed, although Ms. Knight gave him a depth that explained his demeanor and soon endeared me to his character. Brett, dealt the short end of the deck of cards in his life, was determined to get past all his upheavals and find happiness.

The two men developed their own form of a loving relationship~ Ms. Knight you had me worried that I wouldn’t get my HEA. No fears. Morticia Knight delivered an HEA— albeit along the hard road—one with hot and steamy sex and a personal growth for Cole and Brett which led them into each other’s arms.

Morticia Knight’s Justice Prevails took me to the top of the emotional mountain, let me look at the vast view below, and then delivered a descent that radiated warmth and love.

Beau and Austin were a loving and thoughtful couple who complimented each other’s desires and needs. Book 3 in the Sin City Uniforms series united Detective Beau Williams and Investigative Technician Austin Kent as they searched for a Las Vegas serial killer— finding him and so much more.

I adored Austin’s character. His demeanor, his carefree attitude and his ability to hide behind a façade of hurt and despair radiated through the pages as Ms. Knight brought him to life. Beau’s ability to recognize Austin’s emotional needs personified the author’s capacity to write a story of not only suspense and drama but of understanding and care.

Old friends reenter the story, but Justice Prevails can be read as a standalone. Justice Prevails delivered sexy men with a hint of need and a plot twist that will sure to blow your mind.

S.E.X. Review~ Copping an Attitude by Morticia Knight

Sexy and Dark~ Words that I wouldn’t normally put together, but after reading Copping an Attitude by Morticia Knight my mind and emotions are still in a jumble. Ms. Knight left me bereft and enamored with Lonnie and Parker. Parker, a Las Vegas police officer who assisted a young hustler caught in a web of sex slave trafficking. Slade, (real name Lonnie) was at rock bottom, and he thought it was only because he hustled. Little did he know his the meth-head pimp planned to sell him to the highest bidder and ship him across the pond. Lucky for Slade~ Parker saw a good soul and fell fast for the young man.

There were so many things I loved about this book. First, even though Parker fell fast and furious for young Slade, I never felt as if the romance was rushed or insta-loved. Ms. Knight wrote with such emotion that the budding relationship blossomed into a beautiful love affair.

A darker edge than Ms. Knight’s usual style immediately captured my attention as she brought the seedier side of the Las Vegas strip to life. I was transported to the strip where I envisioned every hustle, pimp or police bust. Her attention to detail always makes this reader come back for more.

Morticia Knight delivered grit and grime, spun her magic web and created a story of second chances and unconditional love.

S.E.X. Review~ All Fired Up by Morticia Knight

Morticia Knight has a new series, Sin City Uniforms and the first book All Fired Up, set my e-reader aflame and my heart pitter patter. A sexy police officer and an alpha fireman~ what more could any reader ask for?

Ms. Knight hit the mark as Trent and Shawn continuously encounter each other at the same crime scenes, only to have firefighter Trent alpha-out on Shawn. Embarrassment aside, Shawn was willing to forge a relationship with Trent and let the chips fall where they may.

All Fired Up dove into insecurities and difficulties of the job, when the main characters were both first responders. Trent had his own demons to tackle, and lucky for him Shawn was willing to give him the space to figure out his priorities.

Ms. Knight never fails to deliver a wonderfully written story, whether it’s historical or contemporary, her books should not be missed.
