S.E.X. Review~ Bite~ Various Authors

Buy Links: Amazon US | Amazon UK | Universal Link - Exclusive to Amazon and Available to Borrow with Kindle Unlimited

Vampires old and new, strong and sensual, with desires both predatory and protective. Their attraction is fierce and fascinating, and their love is eternal. We believe they deserve a very special kind of man—and their own happily ever after.

Four best-selling authors bring you their own take on the vampire lover’s story.

In Out of Time by Clare London, the ancient vampire Ambrus tries to protect Edward, a newly-turned young man, hoping to bring him comfort, acceptance of his fate, and eventually love.

In Christmas for a Vampire by Ruby Moone, grief-stricken vampire, Ellis Davenport, faces a miserable, lonely life when it seems the love of his life prefers death to eternity with him.

In A Tale Told in Darkness by Sue Brown, Lee comforts his lover with the tale of Brook, a vampire who falls for his neighbour Michael. When the young man is pursued by someone far more dangerous, only Brook can save him.

In Lamb to the Slaughter by Joanna Chambers, there is very little Lucien St. Villiers enjoys more than hunting for beautiful young men who are eager to learn all that Lucien has to teach them.

Please note: these stories may also be individually available for purchase at various times. This collection is a special event for 2019.

Bite was a compilation of short vampire stories by Clare London, Sue Brown, Joanna Chambers, and Ruby Moone. Each tale took a pairing and delivered a sweet read.

Out of Time by C. London brought Ambrose and Edward from war through the century, lost and then found. Edward’s constant searching for something more always led him away from Ambrus, but years later, always right back to him. Little did Edward know, that what he was searching for all along was the vampire in front of him. Sweet and loving, Ambrus and Edward’s love story was the classic lost lovers eventually reunited. (4 handcuffs)

Christmas for a Vampire by Ruby Moone was sadly sweet. Ellis and Quinn fought.  In war and were separate by death. Many years go by and Ellis still pines for the man he wanted to spend his life with. Uncontrollable circumstances kept the men apart until they found each other again. This sweet tale hit all the buttons and kept the notion true love does exist. (4 handcuffs)

A Tale Told in Darkness by Sue Brown was the most emotional of the short stories and the one which reduced this reader to tears. Cal and Lee were lovers who loved to tell stories. One such story Lee told Cal in the dark was of Brook and Michael, destined to be together, even if one was vampire and the other human. Ms. Brown delivered gritty and an emotional roller coaster that stood out amongst the other stories. I would love to see this story expanded! (5 handcuffs)

Lamb to the Slaughter by Joanna Chambers delivered an unsuspecting twist to the pairing of Lucien and Marcus. No spoilers, but remember looks could be deceiving and sweet & innocent may not truly be. A quick story, Ms. Chambers kept me interested.

Overall, each story delivered a different perspective on vampires and the “life” led. Whether the interaction with fellow vampires or humans, the authors did a nice job of bringing life to their stories and creating a world in few pages.

Sexy and seductive, lustful yet loving, Goodnight My Angel by Sue Brown was the perfect follow up to Morning My Angel of Angel Enterprises series.

Josh and Cal were delicious in their banter, lives, and newest escapades, to unravel the mystery of targeted agency operatives and their family members.

Ms. Brown wove a tale of suspense and intrigue which kept this reader captivated by her scripted words and fast-paced delivery. Once I started the book, my e-reader never left my side until the tale was complete.

Ms. Brown’s writing was flawless, each scene delivered with thought and care, never forced, allowing the characters to drive her emotions and portrayal. As the layers were peeled away more nuances followed thus delivering a mystery book wrought with friendship and love.

Angel Enterprise series has moved to my must-read list and the next book cannot come fast enough.

Alpha Barman by Sue Brown was a nice introduction to her new series J.T's Bar. A mixture of life in the open space of Wyoming and special ops, Alpha Barman melded very different lifestyles into a cohesive story.

Main characters Jake and Mitch and the men of their team were rough & tough and angst filled, wading through the ups and downs of their life choices. Each character added a depth to the story line which was not forced but cohesively flowed.

I enjoyed the elements of military M.O. and the infusion of the secondary characters. Ms. Brown’s start to a new world building left me wanting for more, and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Morning My Angel by Sue Brown was a refreshing and intriguing read that satisfied every nuance I look for in a book.

Josh worked for a security firm and corresponded with a mysterious man he dubbed, Charlie~ from the hit show with the angels. Charlie, on the other hand, called Josh Angel.

Josh and his team found themselves in London working with a team of counterparts- intrigue and who dunit- the men attempted to solve a missing person/ embezzlement case.

When I first started the book, the sheer number of players confused and overwhelmed me, needing a graphic organizer to keep everyone in line. But, once I started to flesh out Ms. Brown’s train of thought, I found myself immersed in the story and the time flew by.

The twists and turns held my attention. The characters were likeable, albeit a tad immature on Josh’s part (for a man in his thirties). And the comradery shined through.

A few editing errors which made me go back and reread, but I was still able to enjoy the book. I look forward to seeing where Ms. Brown takes us on this journey of Angel Enterprise.

The Sapphire Ranch Wolves series
#4 The Forgotten Wolf (to come 2016)
#5 The New Wolf (to come 2016)

Excerpt:

Under the cold full winter moon, Owen padded through the fields, now devoid of sheep or cows, and contemplated his options, limited though they were. He could smell something ahead but he couldn’t identify what was teasing his senses. Suddenly he froze, one paw in the air. A tall—no, huge—dark-skinned human, dressed in black jacket and pants, faced him, a high-powered rifle pointing between Owen’s eyes. The human seemed equally still, his eyes locked on Owen. Then he lowered the weapon. Owen managed to recover his senses enough to back away, not taking his eyes off the human who seemed to be the source of the glorious scent. He had the oddest feeling—like the human didn’t want him to leave.

Owen turned and fled, his senses on high alert. As he ran into a clearing Owen spotted two wolves ahead of him. They hadn’t seen him yet, too busy playing like young pups. He should warn them about the human with the rifle.

What the hell are two wolves, two shifters, doing here?

They noticed him and stood rock still, the three of them at an impasse. Owen made the first move, retreating backwards into the darkness. They could take their chances. He breathed a sigh of relief when they didn’t follow him, but it was short lived as he contemplated the identity of one of the wolves. They weren’t the first wolf shifters he’d met since his banishment, but none of the others had been from his previous pack. He would have to move on now he’d been discovered. What was Cal Pope doing here, so far away from home? Owen had questions. Lots of questions, but he wasn’t sure he was going to like the answers.
