S.E.X. Review~ The Trouble with Mirrors by Bailey Bradford

A little sass and a perfect ass can land a vamp in a sticky situation…
Paolo has watched his friends and coven leader find mates, their other halves. He’s ready to find someone just for him, though that means getting out and actually going somewhere.
When his coven leader, Claude, asks him to help out with a bit of a spy mission, Paolo agrees. He puts on his sexiest—and skimpiest—club outfit and dives right in.
But the mission brings him head to head with his coven’s worst enemies, the Dark Slayers. And when he finds himself attracted to one who’s about to be initiated against his will, Paolo can’t resist helping the man out…and having some really hot sex while he’s at it.
Then the Dark Slayers find them…

I have to admit Bailey Bradford’s The Trouble with Mirrors was not what I expected as a fan of the series~ The Vamp for Me.  Quirky and fun- loving with a dark edge Mirrors was a great read that brought forth smiles and drama.

Paolo and Dakota were an unlikely couple- vampire and pseudo recruit slayer. Both men looking for something and never finding their nitch- but together they found friendship and love. The chemistry between the two men was believable~ making us forget that one of them was a vampire. I adored Paolo’s snarky attitude and Dakota’s sweet Midwest disposition. A lovely couple.

The secondary characters added suspense and drama to the book and as always Ms. Bradford's style of writing kept me interested an enthralled- no pun indented.
A great series, recommend reading in order- not to be missed.

S.E.X. Review~ Don't Drink the Holy Water by Bailey Bradford

Being left for dead sure has a way of changing a man.
All West wanted was one night of fun. He’d taken on the responsibility of raising his younger siblings after their parents died, had done so out of love, but he was a young man and he just wanted a chance to live like one for a few hours.
It almost cost him his life. It certainly meant his life was changed forever, and along with his life, the lives of his siblings. They were all exposed to a secret world they’d never known existed. Vampires.
Human children living alongside vampires…seemed unusual. Claude, the coven leader who saved West and his brothers and sisters, doesn’t have accommodations for kids. He finds one coven in the country that does, and sets about making a home there for West and his family. Before he sends West away, West meets an intriguing man, Axel, whom he encounters again months later. The attraction between them is strong, but there is more to consider than just how sexy Axel is.
Nothing in life is easy, whether you’re a vampire or a human.
Reader Advisory: This book contains references to sexual assault and violence.
Publisher's Note: This book has previously been released on the author's blog.
Axel and West are my new favorite couple from Bailey Bradford’s series The Vamp For Me. Don’t Drink the Holy Water tells the story of West, sired by Claude in Sunshine is Overrated. West must come to terms with being a vampire, raising his human siblings and adjusting to life in his new coven.

Axel was a professional sandboarder and thinks he’s losing it when he’s catapulted into the midst of death-seeking zombies and a batty man who he falls head over heal with.

As far as the books in the series, Don’t Drink the Holy Water was the most romantic and sensual with immediate gratification of likeable characters. Both Axel and West are caring, loving men looking for a lifetime commitment of more than just donor/vampire but of life-long mates and husbands. This book is chockfull of sex appeal and sensual undertakings. Ms. Bradford’s characterization of the shy West was endearing as he came to terms with not only his new life as a vampire, but his sexual inexperiences and the desire to please Axel. The two men created a synergy of exploration of sexual gratification and friendship.

Ms. Bradford hit it out of the park with Don’t Drink the Holy Water~ introduction of new characters, seeing old friends, and new and interesting story lines.

S.E.X. Review~ Sunshine is Overrated by Bailey Bradford

Life with vamps is never easy.
Abernathy Meyers is already mated to a vamp, Zebulon. It’s just too bad that Zebulon doesn’t give a darn about him. Abbie’s stuck with the man for eternity—or until they die. Some days, Abbie thinks that can’t happen soon enough. He’s tired of being treated badly, yet he doesn’t really want to make his earthly exit yet.
Because he’s longed for another man—another vampire—for years. Forbidden love—is anything more compelling, or more heart-breaking?
There’s a twisted past, a hidden story linking Abbie, Zebulon and the coven leader, Claude.
Claude lives with a fear of turning to dust at any moment. It isn’t reasonable, but he can’t shake it. He’s let his own fears impede his potential happiness, and instead he puts the needs of his coven first, ignoring his own. But if he’s deliberately blind to one particular human’s needs because that human is a mate to another vampire, then is Claude truly leading to the best of his ability?
It’s a tough question for him to answer and soon, he’ll have to make a choice that will affect him and Abbie, forever.
Publisher's Note: This book was previously available on the author’s blog.
Sunshine is Overrated is the darkest, yet appropriately witty book in Bailey Bradford’s, The Vamp For Me #3. Abernathy, human and mated to Zeb is unhappy, and not mated to the man of his dreams. Claude, the leader of the rag-tag group of vamps and mates has been in love with Abernathy for decades, but without gain, as Abbie is mated to another. Soon Abbie finds himself in extreme danger, forcefully unmated from Zeb and on the verge of death.
Bailey Bradford has created an interesting and deadly world of vampires, zombies and humans.

Although there is humor infused into the characterizations, these vampires are truly deadly people with little regard or remorse. As I read through the series, I often wonder if all the vamps even love their mates~ proven through Zeb’s actions against Abernathy.

Sunshine is Overrated is not the HEA of wine and roses, although HEA’s are achieved. The Vamp For Me series is more one of convenience- survival and if love comes- all the better.

I am enjoying Ms. Bradford’s spin on the vampire world and I look forward to reading more, especially with the infusion of a newly turned vamp and the arrival of the young children. I believe this can make for an interesting mix in a house where things go batty and you’re lucky if the humans don’t go bat-sh..t crazy.

S.E.X. Review~ Don't Stake My Life On It~ Bailey Bradford

Stakes, kilts and holy water—Andrew Meyer is in for the time of his life!

Radney’s tired of being the coven oddball. He had his reasons for being the way he was, and he let those reasons rule his life for centuries. Another mistake—almost harming a human he’d been sent to keep an eye on—has sent Radney on a mission of self-improvement. He’s going to conquer his issues and be the best damned vamp ever!

Maybe.

Andrew Meyers has the term paper from hell to write. It needs to be original and intriguing. What could be more so than people with a vampire fetish?

But when that fetish turns out to be one he has, for a very sexy, kilt-wearing, neurotic vampire, the tables are turned. Andrew isn’t prepared to find out that vampires are real, but he learns it anyway. With help from his twin brother, Erin, he just might be able to find a happy ending—or an ecstatic beginning—for him and his hot as hell red-headed vamp. If he’s careful, and patient, he might even find the vamp for him.

Don’t Stake My Life On It~ Bailey Bradford’s second book in The Vamp for Me series~ a very different and unique version of the vampire world. The vamps in this series are humorous, egotistical and entitled, with little regard to how they treat humans. This by no means is a dark series; instead it displays one of humor and satire.

Radney, human-scaring vamp from book one gets his very own human and story in Don’t Stake My Life On It. Afraid of feeding from humans, Radney relies on Paolo to supply him with bagged blood~ (no spoilers, but there’s a reason he’s frightened). Radney was larger than life and a gregarious character.

Ms. Bradford allowed Radney’s dry sense of humor to guide her writing and his antics had me chuckling as I pictured the ginger-headed vamp playing tricks and telling inappropriate jokes.

Andrew, on the other hand was portrayed as a quiet individual who took a back seat to his extroverted twin brother, yet when he met Radney, Andrew instantly transformed into a man possessed. The possession he desired was Radney and he wouldn’t take no for an answer.

The chemistry between Radney and Andrew was instantaneous and their drive to be together precarious. Between the dark hunters, Erin (Andrew’s twin brother) and the other vampires, one would think Radney and Andrew didn’t stand a chance.

Bailey Bradford always takes a different and fascinating approach to her writing, never fitting a mold, and taking the reader on a new adventure. Don’t Stake My Life On It fit that bill. Although the book delivered and HEA, there is no mating between the vampire and the human~ of which I hope will eventually occur.

The sex is scorching and the dialogue witty. A series that shouldn’t be missed, Don’t Stake My Life On It is worth the read.

S.E.X. Review~ My Life Without Garlic by Bailey Bradford

Some things in life just might be worth giving up garlic for.

It was simple curiosity that led Augustin to the vampire dating site—he thought it must be a joke started up by a bunch of weirdos. Man, was he right—but it just so happens that those weirdos really are vampires, and when one shows up at his place, Augustin’s world is turned upside down.

First he’s got a psychotic vampire to deal with. Then he’s got one who is much more fun hanging around.

Except now that Augustin knows that vampires exist, he can’t be left alive. Or can he? When an alternative is offered up, Augustin doesn’t care for it, either. After all, he doesn’t want to be whisked off to some disgusting vampire den.

Tony’s the vampire next in line to lead the coven. He wants to be a fair man, and that means arguing against killing Augustin. If he’s also attracted to the sarcastic, adorable man, where’s the harm in that?

The attraction between Augustin and Tony is undeniable, but deny it is what they both try to do. Someone is going to have to bend or break.

Funny and quirky~ I loved Bailey Bradford’s My Life Without Garlic. Augustin has not been the luckiest in love and curiosity got the best of him when he came across an Internet vampire dating service—and applied. Little did he know that he’d soon be in hot water with the very real vampires that patronized the site.

Tony’s coven decided to check out the nosy human who was persistent in applying for a date even though the site kept denying him. What occurs is snarkiness at its best with a lot of sexiness.

Augustin immediately captured my attention. His smart mouth, his not so perfect physique, his insatiable appetite and his uncanny ability to annoy anyone whom he came in contact with. My kind of guy!

And Tony? Can I say swoon-worthy? Just picturing the quick and strong alpha-male vamp had my blood simmering and heart a-fluttering.

Ms. Bradford has the makings of a unique and peculiar paranormal series. One which takes everything we know about vampires and twists it to add humor and realism. She left a lot of room for future stories and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into each one. No pun intended.

My only drawback—Tony and Augustin never mated, so the ending is an HFN instead of an HEA. But, as a fan of Bailey Bradford’s work, I am certain she will not leave us hanging.

Hold onto your seats because the sex is off the charts and the jibes even better.
