S.E.X. Review~ Theseus by Cree Storm

Hera and Aries have taken over Olympus. The other Gods have one chance to free Zeus and take his rightful place. However, in order to do so the other Gods must be willing to sacrifice their freedom for his. Theseus's labor is to capture the bull…but this is just crazy.

Taurus is thrown for a loop when he is told he is the mate to a Greek God. Theseus is amazing and keeping his hands off the man is next to impossible. However, finding out that there are rules to mating with a constellation comes as a shock to everyone.

They have three days to find Taurus's replacement or he returns to the sky and Theseus will cease to exist. Can they do this while Phobos is hot on their tails, wreaking terror, to stop them from succeeding on their journey? Or will he succeed where others have failed and Taurus and Theseus be doomed?

Theseus is the 7th book in the Twelve Labors series and Cree Storm’s newest creation. As each book is written more of the story unfolds and another god/demigod is mated in order to eventually save Zeus.

I enjoyed the book and the characters of Taurus and Theseus and thought their issues were well-developed and solved, but I’d be remiss in this review if I didn’t state some issues that I had with the book.

As much as I enjoy Ms. Storm’s writing, the lack of editing in Theseus was distracting. Missing words, misspelled names of characters and characters in the wrong places—these issues took away from the potential enjoyability of the complete story.

I believe I also stated this observation in another of the series, but the Prologue and part of the Epilogue were disjointed from the rest of the story. The opening scene with Aries (I may be wrong, but I thought the god of war-Ares and the astrological sign-Aries) made me feel sticky and slightly unraveled.

As a fan of Cree Storm I will continue with the series. My investment in the series drives me to see it to the end and discover how the gods save Zeus from the clutches of Hera and Aries.

S.E.X. Review~ Apollo by Cree Storm

Murray and Apollo have silently loved each other since the day they met. When they go to the lands below to find the stolen scrolls needed to release Zeus from prison, Apollo and Murray discover they are mates. Murray is blissfully happy until he is kidnapped.

Taken to an old mining cave, Murray is scared. He knows that Apollo is doing everything he can to find him. However, Murray also knows that Hera and Aries will be there soon to take him and the scrolls away. Not wanting Apollo hurt, Murray tries to escape, only to find he is not alone in the cave.

Traipsing through the Mountains of New Mexico, looking for his mate, is not what he had envisioned on his Honeymoon phase. Finding out who took his mate not only angers him but also hurts because trust is not something he gives freely. However, Apollo will find his mate before it is too late or die trying.

The third Twelve Labor is upon us with Cree Storm’s Apollo. Apollo has known for some time that Murray—the keeper of the scrolls—was his mate, yet he kept it from the man.

Murray was a loveable character and it was his demeanor and disposition that kept me interested in the story. His quiet resolve and uninhibited innocence was refreshing and captivating. Never venturing from Atlantis, Murray is introduced to Earth by Apollo and learns about Earth’s lifestyle much like a toddle exploring his surroundings.

I found Apollo’s characterization brash and at times demeaning towards his mate’s feelings. Don’t get me wrong, I believe he loved and cared for Murray but at times I had to look deep to be convinced.

As always Hera and entourage are wreaking havoc thus precipitating the need to find the keys to save Zeus. More characters were introduced for future story lines. I recommend reading the books in order to keep the characters straight although they all begin with the same introduction.

Worth reading.

S.E.X. Review~ Perseus~ Cree Storm

Hera and Aries have taken over Olympus. The other Gods have one chance to free Zeus, however, in order to do so the other Gods must be willing to sacrifice their freedom for his. Twelve keys will release Zeus from Icarus and those keys are each a mate to the chosen ones and the stones will lead the way. Each obstacle is a labor Hercules is all too familiar with. Can they succeed before their time runs out or are they all doomed?

When Stephan finds out he is the mate of Perseus, Son of Zeus, and the reason that a deadly disease has been unleashed, killing people all around him, in order to get to him, Stephan is more determined to stop it at all costs…even if it means his own life. Working together, can they stop it before it is too late? Or will Stephan have to die for others to live?

The second Twelve Labor is upon us with Cree Storm’s Perseus. Sent to retrieve the next key and his mate, Perseus meets Stephan, noted doctor and purveyor of the key.

Perseus was a likeable character caught in an unwarranted situation, forced to find his mate with the eventuality of saving Zeus. I enjoyed Perseus’ personality but at times I found him slightly shallow. He knew from the start he was one of the chosen (in the great hall) but still was ambivalent and cautious. What I did adore about him though, was his unwavering love of Stephan. Perseus immediately saw the good in his mate and fell in love with his attitude and professionalism, before the “lust of looks” took over. Kudos Ms. Storm!

The story kept me entertained throughout and mythology is always a plus for me. Where I think the story strayed~ was the ending. No spoilers, but the abruptness and the complete left turn left me taken back.

Worth reading.

S.E.X. Review~ Hercules~ Cree Storm

Hera and Aries have taken over Olympus. The other Gods have one chance to free Zeus, however in order to do so the other Gods must be willing to sacrifice their freedom for his. Twelve keys will release Zeus from Icarus and those keys are each a mate to the chosen ones, and the stones will lead the way. Each obstacle is a labor Hercules is all too familiar with. Can they succeed before their time runs out or are they all doomed?

Hercules's first labor was to slay the Nemean Lion. Drawn to a Cat Shifter village Hercules finds his panther mate, Micah. The Alpha has been promised strength and stamina in exchange for Micah's death. Micah had accepted the fact he will die until he is saved by his mate. However, when Hercules's life is threatened Micah willingly gives himself up to save his man. A war is about to begin and the question is, who will survive?

Cree Storm captured my attention with her new spin on Greek Mythology in Hercules. Zeus and Olympus are in trouble and the only way to save all is for the dysfunctional, yet fun-loving gods to ban together, find their fated mates and put the keys together. What takes place is a wild ride of mythology~ twenty first century style.

Hercules and cat shifter Micah are fated mates and together they must overcome odds in order to save Zeus and humanity. Micah was a giving soul, forged in a strength which matched his mate’s. Ms. Storm gave Hercules a softer side; one full of love and romance with a strong desire to put Micah and his family first~ no matter what.

This was a wonderful start to a new series. The introduction of many of the upcoming main characters was well done and developed. Cree Storm took an ancient topic and made it her own, adding spice and a heavy dose of lust & love. With Twelve Labors awaiting us, I look forward to reading every installment of Ms. Storm’s series.
