S.E.X.~ Rainbow Snippets

Life has been so crazy, but I'm finally back and sharing this week's Rainbow Snippet

Be sure to check out the link and enjoy all the Snippeteers and their great reads~

Today I'd like to share six lines from my new release, Jaeger, Order of the Black Knights.

Each book is a stand alone and by a different author.

Enjoy!

"My liege.” Jaeger bowed his head to his new king.
“Come. You must accomplish a simple task before we begin our journey to join the others. Lord Wren.”
At those words, Jaeger looked up. Lord Wren, the man he envied. The man who had no care for the despair of the villagers or Jaeger.
“Yes, my liege?”
“Kill him.”

S.E.X. New Release~ Jaeger

Order of the Black Knights
US Marshal Jaeger Tripp is assigned to the Federal Witness Protection Program. The hurt and destruction he’s seen—along with protecting criminals who are only cooperating with the authorities to keep themselves out of jail—have left him with a bleak and jaded view of both life and people. His current assignment is Wren O’Riley, a computer wizard who witnessed a high-profile cartel hit.
To Jaeger, Wren is the same as any other job. He must protect him long enough to get him to testify at trial, and his personal feelings have no place in his work and must be set aside. But that’s easier said than done. On the run and fighting for their lives, Jaeger and Wren can’t help but grow closer. And Jaeger can’t help seeing beyond Wren’s nerdy exterior to a man who might be just what Jaeger needs to settle his soul and capture his heart—if they survive long enough to get that chance.

Prologue 1981

OPPRESSIVE HEAT caused the sweat to trickle down Jaeger’s back and pool at the waistband of his camouflage BDUs. For three fucking days, he’d been entrenched in the mosquito-ridden jungle of Colombia, waiting for his mark, Carlos Quintanilla—drug runner, coca grower, and major player in the Colombian cartel. He and his team were paid handsomely to sit, wait, and dispose of a target. And though the original twenty-four hours—in, shoot, and out—had grown to three days, mercenaries were paid to wait under any conditions.
Once the deed was done, he would trek four klicks through the jungle and rendezvous with the team, cross into Venezuela, and transform into a businessman for the trip back to the States. With his payoff, he planned to retire—hang up his hat as a killer for hire and live on an island in peace and quiet. Maybe. If the nightmares stopped and gave him respite.
He watched through his rifle sight as Quintanilla lumbered along the edge of the pool of his multi-million-dollar fortress. Security was a priority for him, but that was of little consequence to Jaeger, who was perched approximately half a mile away from the complex in a makeshift tree stand with his Remington 700, nicknamed Lolita. He waited.
Movement to the right of the pool caught his attention. Jaeger shifted ever so slightly as the slim figure of a man dressed in blue flowered board shorts, a white undershirt, and flip flops approached Quintanilla. The young man couldn’t have been more than twenty-four.
A dirty blond mop of hair fell over his eyes. His skin was only slightly tanned, as though it had been kissed by the sun, and his ass was meant to be grabbed.
Jaeger didn’t have time to ogle over some squeeze Quintanilla kept at his house. Or maybe the young man was the drug runner’s son. Intel reported that Quintanilla’s wife, children, and mistress were away on vacation. So either the young man was a fuck buddy or a returning son, there to see daddy. Additionally, the team had watched the workers and security guards and knew the next few days were the only time that month Quintanilla would be alone. It looked like a vacation from the world. Quintanilla sent everyone else away and stayed to enjoy the amenities he acquired by dipping his hands into blood money. Carlos Quintanilla believed himself so powerful that no one would dare to touch him. He’d soon be proven wrong.
“Target in sight.” Jaeger spoke softly into the mic attached to the lapel of his camouflage shirt. The earpiece in his right ear crackled with static.
“Can you take the shot, Arrow One?” The speaker, located approximately four kilometers away, waited with the rest of the team for Jaeger to complete the deed and return to the rendezvous point.
“Roger, Base One. Shot available, but there’s a slight problem. The target is not alone. Over.”
Jaeger waited for base to confirm or negate his mission. He hoped it was a go, because if not, the sitting in a mosquito-infested jungle, being eaten alive would have been for naught. And that would highly piss him off.
“Can you take them both out, Arrow One?”
Jaeger thought and quickly contemplated the speed of the traveling bullet, the wind velocity, and the reaction time for the second target to move and attempt to take cover and fall at Quintanilla’s feet. He couldn’t guarantee it.
“Negative, Base One. Advise.” Jaeger waited.
Sitting in the jungle required patience, which any mercenary or sniper had in spades. The average man found it torturous to sit in silence for three minutes. Jaeger did it for days at a time. So the five minutes it took for base to get back to him was nothing. If Quintanilla attempted to leave the premises, Jaeger would have to either take him out and leave the young man alive or try to eradicate both of them.
“Base One to Arrow One. Over.”
“Arrow One here.”
“It’s a go, Arrow One. Target first, then the secondary. Take the trip to the destination and see if any cleaning is required. We are still a go for the meet. Over.”
“Roger, Base One. Over.”
Jaeger had the green light. Kill Quintanilla, shoot the young man, and confirm both kills. Jaeger had no doubt Carlos Quintanilla would be dead, but was not sure of the second target. He’d put a bullet in him on sight, if needed.
Jaeger peered through the lens, blinked his eyes to refocus, and stared at Quintanilla. He and his blond companion were seated side by side in chaise longues. The young man’s hands moved earnestly, as if the talk was at the forefront of his young life. Jaeger inhaled and filled his lungs. The feel of Lolita against his cheek and on his shoulder and the caress of the scope and wood stock comforted him but had also brought him great pain. But this was not the time to become maudlin. He had a job. One that would enlarge his bank account and maybe deliver the solace he’d struggled so hard to find.
Ever so slowly he released his breath as his index finger rested on the trigger. As he let go the last of his breath, Jaeger squeezed the trigger. The whiz of the bullet rang through the air and blended with the cacophony of birds in the untamed Colombian jungle. Jaeger released the shell, inhaled again, and aligned his second shot. Dead-on, the bullet pierced Carlos Quintanilla’s skull, and blood oozed from the hole. Quintanilla fell over in the lounger. The young man dropped to his knees and covered his mouth with his hands. The angle of his body made it impossible for Jaeger to kill him, but he’d maim him until he was onsite and could finish the deed. This better involve a bonus. And not a two-fer-one sale.
The second shot, strategically aimed at the young man’s side, tore through his ribs and pierced a lung, incapacitating him until Jaeger arrived. The man dropped.
Jaeger slung his minipack onto his back, hoisted Lolita onto his shoulder by her strap, and jogged through the foliage. Normally the slight trek would have taken about ten minutes on solid ground, but in the thick of the Colombian jungle, half a mile could take up to an hour. Jaeger didn’t have the luxury of wasted time. He humped the half mile as fast and expediently as the surrounding area allowed and arrived at the fortress in less than thirty minutes.
Careful and mindful of any unwanted guests, Jaeger quickly entered through a low-lying wall on the back side and made his way to the pool area. The silence was welcome, except for the slight whimpers of the wounded bystander. Jaeger verified Quintanilla’s death and turned his attention to the young man who struggled for breath as his lungs obviously filled with blood and his heart enlarged and worked overtime to pump. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. His soulful chocolate-brown eyes pooled with tears as he peered up at Jaeger. Blood, snot, and tears did not detract from the young man’s good looks. In retrospect Jaeger realized he was Quintanilla’s son and not a boy toy.
Jaeger removed his Sig from the side holster and aimed. The young man resignedly closed his eyes. Sadness illuminated Jaeger’s soul at the prospect of taking an innocent, but no witnesses were allowed. And Jaeger was paid to kill. He wasn’t quite sure where his feeling emanated from, but a job was a job, and Jaeger and the team were being paid handsomely. The boy had the misfortune to be born into the Quintanilla family and grow up the son of a notorious drug runner. Maybe not so innocent, then—tainted by his genealogy. Jaeger pulled the trigger. The sound was louder than usual.

S.E.X. ~ Weekly bloghop for M/M Romance Authors, Bloggers, & Readers

Welcome to the Seductive Studs bloghop, a weekly bloghop for authors, readers, and bloggers of M/M Romance.

Blurb
Jameson is beta to the Sierran-Sawtooth pack in Stanley, Idaho. He loves his job, his best friend, Alpha Cameron Sierran and being a wolf. But, there’s always been something missing and Jameson felt it even more when Cameron mated his destined omega mate, Dr. Trevor Langford. Being the beta is a tough job and requires an air of seriousness and fortitude. As much as Jameson wants a mate, he doesn’t want someone who is not as serious or fastidious as him. And then he meets Peter.
Peter Potter is human, an FBI Special Agent and partner to Dr. Trevor Langford. He takes his job very seriously but nothing else. A jokester and a queen, Peter things the world revolves around his whims.  Out, loud and proud, Peter makes no bones about who he is- he’s in your face, love him or leave him. Until he meets the very serious Jameson Matthews and has his eye on the hunky wolf.
Jameson scents the human as his mate but can’t believe fate has destined him with such a jester. Did fate get it wrong or was she correct in mating opposite sides of the coin?

Enjoy a snippet form my current WIP~ Jameson's Jester, Sierran-Sawtooth Pack 2 (unedited)

Jay polished off his beer, watching Cameron and Trevor walk away, hand in hand. Cameron was one lucky fuck to have found his mate—the perfect man for his alpha. Fate always destined the alpha of a pack to be mated with an omega, and Trevor’s professional life lent itself to the job of pack omega—a negotiator for the FBI. Jay was in awe at the love they showered each other and the acceptance. When Trevor first arrived in Stanley, on a forced recuperation from injuries sustained in a negotiation gone array, Trevor didn’t even know wolves existed or that he was one. Once he’d met Cameron the stars aligned and all that changed. Cameron’s wolf drew out its wolf-mate and the two men sealed the deal. Jay wasn’t jealous of his best friend and the man’s mate, but he was a tinge envious. Every shifter’s greatest desire was to be blessed with a mate from Mother Nature and Jay was no different.

Enjoy a snippet from my current WIP~
Jameson's Jester~ Sierran-Sawtooth Pack 2

This could so not be happening. Jameson Matthews, beta for the Sierran-Sawtooth pack thought, sniffing the air and looking around for the permeating scent―lavender and sandalwood. Spotting the source, Jay glared across the room and peered into the whiskey colored eyes of the new Alpha mate’s best friend and work partner, Peter Potter. Once again, no fucking way.

Romance one snippet at a time~

This could so not be happening. Jameson Matthews, beta for the Sierran-Sawtooth pack thought, sniffing the air and looking around for the permeating scent―lavender and sandalwood. Spotting the source, Jay glared across the room and peered into the chocolate brown eyes of the new Alpha mate’s best friend and work partner, Peter Potter. Once again, no fucking way.
The man exuded queen. And from the little Trevor told them of his best friend, Peter Potter was also a clown of epic proportion. Jay needed a mate that met his goals and had his same drive―serious and steadfast.

Knowing that it would be rude to leave a party which celebrated the mating of his alpha and their new omega, Jay grabbed his longneck and launched himself off the balcony and strode across the yard to an empty bench under the large pine. Luckily for him, he’d be able to bid his goodbyes sooner rather than later, because once Cameron and Trevor left for Trevor’s surprise he’d book it. Far away from goofy Peter Potter.

Remember to keep hoppin' and check out all the other teasers~

“Has my date arrived on Palomino yet?” His voice cracked, nerves getting the best of him. How did Madame Eve choose the perfect person for someone? Would they get along? Have the same likes or dislikes? And had he really spotted Leo?

“I’ve not seen him, but I have it on good authority,” she winked, “that the man of your dreams is already on the island, enjoying the sun and sand.”

“Celia, you’re a tease, but I can tell we’re going to get along.” He chuckled and even that slight bit of humor settled his nerves. “Wish me luck. The man of my dreams may be just a short boat ride away.”

“You have no idea,” Celia called after him.

A Siren Erotic Romance

ADULT EXCERPT

“One of us is a tad bit overdressed.” Kristoph sat transfixed at the beacon—Diablo’s dick—that led the way to the bed. Brought out of his trance, Kristoph found himself yanked to the foot of the bed by his ankles. A sharp claw protruded from Diablo’s finger and swept up one side of his khakis and down the other, underwear included. Clothes ripped off and naked from the waist down, Kristoph suddenly felt very vulnerable.
“Diablo?”
“I’m sorry, cariño, but I couldn’t wait any longer. I promise to replace the pants.” The bed dipped, Diablo’s body surrounding his as he crab-crawled to the head of the bed.
“Shirt, please, unless you want to lose that, too.” Kristoph whipped the polo over his head and unceremoniously tossed it on the floor. Naked, his tan skin was a contrast to his pale lover.
“Beautiful.” Kristoph smiled at Diablo’s compliment.
Kristoph’s flesh goose bumped as Diablo’s wicked tongue grazed across each nipple and down his sternum to his belly button. An unmanly giggle escaped as that tongue dipped into his belly button and swirled. Oh, to have that killer tongue on his cock.
He was soon pleasantly surprised when Diablo lapped at the pre-cum pooled on the tip of his dick.
“Oh fuck, Diablo. Please, Sir.” The honorific slipped from his lips so easily. To have a master as special and sexy as Diablo made his heart soar.
Kristoph wanted to scream the slower Diablo licked him, suckling his balls and then dipping his tongue into the slit of his bulbous head. Diablo repeated the action and Kristoph searched for all the patience he could muster. He scrunched his eyes shut and tightly grasped the sheets. Movement made him open his eyes and he peered up, face to face with Diablo’s green eyes.
“Let’s take the edge off, or I can guarantee once I get into your tight ass, I won’t last long.” Kristoph shuddered, the feel of his mate’s body aligned next to his, combining their sweat and masculinity. Moving to his side and sliding down slightly, he lined his cock next to Diablo’s. The vampire’s large callused hand wrapped around both their dicks. The pre-cum, which oozed from the two slits, eased the way for the man to stroke them effortlessly—up and down, twisting the knobs ever so slightly, catching more of the drippings.
Kristoph panted, his breath ragged and mouth agape. Moans of pleasure emanated from him as the hunky vampire brought them close to completion.
Timing the movement of his hips with the slide of Diablo’s hand, his cock skimmed along the velvety steel of Diablo’s dick.
“Close, Diablo, so close.” As if the man knew just what he needed, Diablo’s pinky pressed into his slit, creating a volcanic eruption of cum. The vampire continued to milk both of them, Diablo’s orgasm mere seconds behind. Their combined scents and spent seed covered their bellies. Diablo’s rhythmic circling of their cum on Kristoph’s stomach brought forth a faint smile and chuckle.
“That was…nice.” Kristoph turned his head into the crook of Diablo’s neck and kissed him lightly. “I don’t think I’ve ever come so hard.” He felt safe in the strong sinewy arms wrapped around him like a protective covering.
“You know, I do need pants, though, before we go downstairs to eat.”

* * * *

Diablo was a happy vampire. Light snores and wispy breaths came from the man presently relaxed and asleep in his arms. His mate. The only thing that would make this moment better would be if Diablo had fucked and bitten Kristoph, sealing them together forever. Soon enough.
Diablo nuzzled the top of his mate’s head. The tendrils soft against his face, his hair smelled like coconut with the underlying scent of sunshine.
His little coquí had a beautiful body, sleek and compact. The man couldn’t be taller than five feet seven inches. Only a slight hint of his island ancestry, his skin radiated peaches and cream. He twirled his finger in the long shoulder-length shaggy blond hair—streaks of chocolate brown sporadically placed.
“Hey.” Kristoph’s sleep-ridden voice whispered across Diablo’s collarbone. “I must have dozed off.”
“No worries, cariño, I’ll never balk at the chance to have you in my arms. How about we wash the dried cum off and go eat. Then we can discuss our true mating.”
“Perfect.” A quick shower, a change of clothes, and now the forgotten dinner.
Diablo reheated each of their plates, and they ate side by side in companionable silence. The last plátano eaten, Diablo pushed his dish aside and reached for Kristoph’s hand.
“When we mate, I’ll bite you in the neck and suck your life’s blood—just enough until I can feel you in my system, as my seed spills into you. Then I’ll bite my wrist, and let you drink from me. We’ll feel our beings, our souls melding into one, and then our mating is complete. My parents are life mates, and they’ve always told me it’s an intensely satisfying and erotic experience. We’ll feel each other wherever we are, together or apart. We’ll be able to communicate mentally.” Diablo waited for a few seconds to allow Kristoph to take in all he said. “Are you sure this is something you want?”
Diablo noticed the intensity in Kristoph’s eyes as he spoke. “Yes, Diablo, I want to be mated to you for life. With all that it brings.”

Excerpt~
Skyler pulled himself from his reminiscing and squinted in the sunlight, trying to get a better look at the man on the dock. Could it be Leo? He wanted to shout from the balcony but feared disturbing the other guests. And what if the man only resembled Leo? Years passed and people changed. Still…. Telling himself he needed to get to the dock anyway, he grabbed his overnight kit and sunglasses and made his way to the lobby desk.

“Hi, Celia, can you tell me where I go catch the launch? I swear I saw someone I know down by the marina.”

“Well, you won’t have much time to spare, but that’s where you’re headed. Out the front door, follow the right-hand path down to the marina, about a five-minute walk. When you get there, look for a yellow launch and ask for Joe. He’ll take you across to Palomino. Everything is ready there for you.”

Spotlight~ Tiara's Golden Submission~ Evelise Archer

On the cusp of turning fifty, Tiara, a submissive without a Dom or husband, desired to return to the lifestyle. Placing her destiny in the hands of Madame Eve and the 1Night Stand Service, will Tiara find all that she seeks? Or will a past love interfere with her future plans?

Excerpt~

“You still got it, girl.” Admiring her lithe and toned body in the full-length mirror, she donned the silk robe left on a hook.

She folded and stowed her costume on the chair so when she returned to the bathroom it would be readily available. Stepping into the dimly lit hallway, Tiara followed the recessed lighting located in the floor to where a DM stood ramrod straight, muscular arms crossed over his chest.

“You may enter.” He held the door open for her and followed her in. “Please remember to utilize your safewords, if necessary. Yellow to slow down and red to stop. If at any time you feel unsettled or unsafe, this button will send a signal to me, and I will enter immediately to stop all play. Do you understand?” The DM pointed to the panic button.

“Yes, I understand.”

“Enjoy.” Without a glance backwards, the imposing DM vacated the room. Stripping off her robe, she folded and left it on a chair for later.

The walls of the Doctor’s Office were a pale pink with brown accents. Her eyes were drawn to the intricate examining table with fur-lined stirrups at the base. The table appeared to be disjointed to allow for adjustable angles. She ran her fingers along the wardrobe cabinet, dark cherrywood sanded smooth to the touch. A queen-size bed, also dark wood, sat in the far corner. She stood at parade rest, eyes downcast.

S.E.X. Review~ And Then There Was...One by G.A. Hauser

Working as a medic for the army special forces, Dan G. Wilson and his team came upon a troop of their own men, well behind enemy lines in a ‘safe zone’ all with symptoms of being exposed to poison gas. When Dan’s team reported their findings to their commanding officers, nothing was done about it, and the group remained baffled as to how US military troops were exposed and died if the gas did not come from the enemy.
Once his tour of duty was over, Dan did not reenlist, and neither did the men from his unit.

Back in civilian life, struggling from PTSD as well as a head injury Dan cannot function and is placed on disability. When he tries to contact the other members of his unit, he finds one by one, each of the men has died from ‘accidents’. Panicked he will be next, Dan changes his name to ‘Rudy Apollo’, leaves his home state of Indiana, and moves to New York City, where he hopes to blend in with the large population, and vanish from sight.

Darius Benson is a New York City firefighter/paramedic, who had lost his parents in the terrorist attack on 9/11. One evening before his shift ends, he is called to the scene of an accident, where a car drove on a city sidewalk and hit one man. Darius and his partner rush the man to the emergency room. On the way, Darius holds the man’s hand, trying to give him comfort, and Darius can tell something else is going on with this handsome victim of a mysterious hit and run. Off shift, Darius stays in the hospital until the man is out of surgery to see if he survives, only to witness two men in suits, also waiting for the victim.
When Darius realizes their intention is to inject this man with a syringe since he was not killed from the hit from a car, Darius intervenes and prevents the men from coming near the victim. Terrified to leave this man alone, Darius, with the help of his paramedic partner, move the man to Darius’ apartment in the Bronx. It’s then, as the man recovers with Darius’ care, that his story begins to reveal itself.

And now, both men’s lives are in the balance because of a cover-up that began on the battlefields in Afghanistan; a cover-up which has now become a fight to stay alive and find someone to trust in the Big Apple.
Both men know it is up to Rudy, the last surviving witness, to expose the incident to the media…

But in reality, it’s one man’s word against the war machine.

…And Then There Was…One

One lone medic from a squad of heroes trying to bring justice to murderers. And with the faith and love of a devoted fireman named Darius, Rudy realizes, anything is possible.

And Then There Was…One by G.A. Hauser was a fantastic mix of male romance, cloak and dagger, and wonderful storyline. Darius and Dan met due to nefarious circumstances, but tragedy and despair brought the two men together for healing and love.

Dan Wilson, aka Rudy Apollo was a medic in the Army. Tragedy befell his fellow squad of medics when a large chemical company performed unscrupulous acts against U.S. soldiers. Darius, a New York fireman came to Dan’s aid more than once, and taken under Darius’s care, Dan began to heal.

Ms. Hauser delivered a fast-paced tale with three dimensional characters. Dan suffered from PTSD and also was a target for a hit by a chemical company testing poisonous gas on unsuspecting soldiers. As each member of Dan’s unit was killed, Dan became the only survivor with a story to tell and rock the US government.

I loved the slow build in the relationship between Darius and Dan. What may have started out as instant attraction for Darius concerning the man whose life he saved, soon turned into a true friendship and budding romance. Albeit the fact the Dan was injured, and sex couldn’t be on the table at the time, Ms. Hauser delivered a personal connection between the men that ran deeper than immediate attraction.

A union of souls and a bond in brotherhood created synergy between the two men. Issues such as PTSD, 9-11, and the everyday citizen fighting big brother were delicately touched on with care and consideration.

The buildup left me longing for more and the ending was everything I wanted. And Then There Was…One hit it out of the park.

With someone watching them, tragedy strikes when they least expect it. Will Sabine survive long enough to explore her feelings for both detectives? Or will Stuart and Kyle fall at the hand of her kidnapper?

Excerpt

The cab came to a stop some time later and she sat up. The world spun on its axis. The sound of bees buzzing filled her ears as she broke out in a cold sweat and she began to shake violently. Sabine tried in vain to make her body cooperate with her, but it was a no go. Her brain was muddled and nothing made sense anymore. Not even her body would oblige her and move. “Where am I?” Sabine whispered, licking her lips.

“The lady is right here,” the cabbie said, opening the door. “She bleeding and wearing next to nothing.”

A thread of embarrassment slid through her, but as quickly as it was there, it was gone. “Help me,” she croaked. The world around her was slowly floating away. No matter how much she tried to keep her eyes open, she couldn’t gather the strength needed to do so. “I…can’t…go…back.”

Unconsciousness, blissful yet scary, drifted around her, cradling her into a void of nothingness.

“No you don’t, sweetheart.” A gruff voice called to her, drawing her out of the darkness. “Come back to us.”

Sabine’s eyes fluttered open, then shut again. She didn’t want to open her eyes. The darkness was safe.  It was comfortable there. There was no pain. No cages. Freedom lurked in the darkness.

“Ambulance is on the way,” another male said. His voice was an octave higher than the penetrating baritone of the first man. “It’s our kidnapping victim.”

Congratulations, you win the booby prize.

“Yeah it is,” person one said. “When did you say that ambulance would be here?” In the distance she could hear the warble of noise. Finally she could sleep. “Hey now.” The man’s rough palm patted her cheek. “Wake up, sweetheart. Stay with us.”

Sabine groaned and turned away from him.

“They’re both through and throughs, Stuart, and she’s lost a good amount of blood.”

So man one did have a name. Stuart. His name was both sexy and bold, invoking delicious images of the man holding her hand. When did he take my hand? How come I can’t remember how I got here?

“Damn it,” he cursed. “If they don’t hurry their asses up, we’re going to lose our victim. Call them back Kyle and tell them to double time it.”

Kyle. His name was just as delectable as Stuart’s. I wonder what he looks like. A part of her was using anything she could think of to stay right there, even though she could feel the darkness surrounding her.

Sabine groaned as she was jostled around. The prick of a needle in her arm caused her to whimper. “Stop.” With a weak gesture she tried to push them away and a hand appeared in hers, squeezing it.

“You gave me a scare girl,” Stuart said close to her ear. “Stay with Kyle and I. Don’t try going anywhere again.” What was he talking about? “Is she ready?”

“Yes, we’re loading her up now. Are you following?”

Sabine half listened to the conversation around her, trying to stay with Stuart like he asked her to do.
“I’m riding with you. My partner will give you the escort.” The soft cushion she lay on lifted up momentarily, jostling her around, then slid into something. In no time they were rolling. “Sabine, we’re going to get you fixed up. I promise.”

She muttered something and a sharp burning sensation raced up her arm, then everything inside of her mellowed out, relaxing her completely. Oh hell yeah, that’s the good stuff. Instead of fighting the darkness she went with it. It was light and peaceful. The pain that radiated through her whole body relented and she could finally breathe without feeling as though her chest was being squeezed to death. Just a little nap and then I’ll tell them everything. The heavy darkness wrapped its tendrils around her and she fell into the deepest sleep she’d had in weeks.

Chuckling, I knew that he understood everything we should be frightened of with our mother’s in charge of the event.

“You don’t have to carry me. I can wheel…” I cut off his statement with a kiss and glanced into the back of the SUV and saw the chair.

“I rather have you in my arms.” I pecked his soft lips again and made my way to the cabin’s entrance, into the embracing arms of our loving families.

“Always in my arms.”
